Customer Review: Almost half of the 100 defective

Usually I have very little problems with Memorex blanks & have only a few defects, but this last batch is a different story. Out of 100 blanks, over 40 of them were visibly defective (the dye has long grooves or missing patches in it) & even more just didn't work. I'm in need of more blanks now, thanks to the fact that almost half of this batch don't work, & I will definitely be looking for a different brand. I have finally received my DVD-R' that I ordered way back on 08/05/07. I pay extra for Amazon Prime to receive my orders via two day delivery. It was all of 5 weeks not two days.
As far as the product purchased I am very pleased and will continue to use them as long as my computer supports the format.
I needed to blow off a little steam. Amazon 95% of the time will get you what you need in a quick and professional manner.

I have burned over 300 of these brand of blank DVDs which should speak volumes. Sure there are a few duds in the pack, but I am more willing to acknowledge that as a hardware issue than a software one. I am perfectly happy with the quality of the discs and when I record HD programming from my DirecTV HD DVR I get discs with content that is extremely close (read barely notice the difference) to HD themselves.

i ordered these 2 december '05, and use them with my panasonic DMR-E80H component DVD recorder to burn TV shows i record. my recorder is two years old, and these discs have worked fine in it without upgrading the firmware. i have had good luck with memorex media for this use for as long as i've owned my recorder; each spindle usually has a couple of duds in it, but for the price it's still a good deal.Customer Review: Do NOT Buy

70% of Discs were scratched. I just realized the Memorex discs are made by Memtek not Memorex ($30 version). So pay $30 and try the name brand or pay $20 and get a 50 pack of high quality Sony discs at a retail store (haven't checked Amazon).
