Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Memorex High Performance AA Alkaline Batteries, 50 PackCustomer Review: Great deal! Rechargables? Watch out for lower voltage! Summary: 5 StarsGreat deal, now at 20¢ each.
When thinking about rechargeable batteries,
be aware that many (if not all) have a full
charge voltage of 1.25V, while the alkalines
have 1.5V -- some equipment, like the flash
attachment on my digital camera, will NOT work
with 4 rechargeable batteries (5V) but WILL WORK
with 4 alkalines (6V). Test before making major
purchases...
Customer Review: On rechargeable batteries Summary: 4 StarsIn response to Sina Neshatian (1/16/05): I gave up on rechargeable batteries because: 1) They don't take as much charge as alkaline, even when brand new; and 2) They run down far more quickly. I think they would be very appropriate for uses less demanding than mine.
Customer Review: Non-rechargeable batteries??? What??? Summary: 1 StarsWhy the deuce would anyone buy batteries that are not rechargeable??? They would pay for themselves dozens of times in a lifetime, and they will potentially save waste. It's like people buying cell phones that had to have their batteries replaced every time they ran out. It's absolutely ludicrous.
Customer Review: Good Batteries Summary: 5 StarsThese batteries last as long as the name brands. We use these in pager, book lights, and a few different types of medical diagnostic equipment, without any problems.
Consumer reports did a study on alkaline batteries and found them all to be pretty much the same, no matter where they were made, or how much they cost.
So save your self some money.
Customer Review: Memorex Batteries Summary: 2 StarsI was disappointed. These were not the Memorex Batteries I usually see, these are made in China and look like knock offs.
I haven't used them yet, so they may be O.K., expecially at that price, but I feel like I was missled.
I also found I could buy Batteries at Costco for the same price.
