Customer Review: Sloppy handling makes for a poor buying experience

I have to say, the discs are great. Never a problem and quick to copy.
That being said, it appears that no matter which brand of balnk DVD or CD I purchase from Amazon, they are ALWAYS poorly packed resulting in destroyed "hatbox containers" and sometimes discs even loose in the box. I have written to customer service, but if this continues (as it has for about the last year) I'm going to give up a few bucks savings here and turn to local retailers. I'm sure some of the blame can be laid at UPS's doorstep, but if theye were packed right, I don't believe the problem would be so overarching.

I'M USING A LITE-ON DVD BURNER SINCE A LOT OF MONTHS AGO AND HAVEN'T HAD NO TROUBLE W/+R 16X DVDs FROM OTHER FACTORIES UNTIL NOW. I SUGGEST TO BUY MEMOREX @ 8X, THOSE ARE MORE STABLE AND YOU JUST SPEND A COUPLE (2 OR 3) MINUTES MORE WHEN BURNING YOUR DATA ON THEM... HOWEVER THIS DOESN'T MEAN THAT MEMOREX ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH. ACTUALLY, THESE DISCS WORKS AT 8X QUITE NORMALLY, BESIDES, IF YOUR DVD BURNER IS FROM A FURTHER FACTORY IT MAY BE POSSIBLE TO BURN AT 16X INDEED... I purchased the above item as a Christmas gift for my son. When I received it, the package was opened and the plastic cover was broken and a piece of the plastic was chipped off and missing. Since I didn't have time to replace it before Christmas, I went ahead and gave it to my son anyway. If it had been purchased for anyone else, or if I had had more time, and if the shipping charges weren't so expensive, I would have returned it for a replacement. I was not at all satisfied with this purchase. I have not checked with my son to see if the DVDs worked properly.Customer Review: Bad media - Many coasters

I usually buy 50-100 pack DVD media bundle since i backup a lot of data and movies. I must have burned over 300-400 DVDs to date. I have had no issues with TDKs or Verbatims (Verbatim being my favorite).
With these Memorex DVDs, i have lots of issues like coasters, unable to read the discs, etc. When i look at the back of these discs, i realized many of these blank DVDs have defects close to the outside ring of the discs.
I will contact Memorex on this to get a replacement of my bundle. i am very disappointed with this brand.

Do NOT read the reviews and think that they are completely accurate or from people that know what they're doing... i have purchased 4 spindles of these Memorex 100packs 16x DVD+r's and have not had any problems- if you know what you're doing and use the right software, you'll be fine. batches of dvd's can occasionally be defective, but over the course of a few hundred dvd's i have not had any problems- these are a quality product and if those other reviewers wanted their money back, i'm sure memorex would give it to them no questions asked....
