This product was totally useless. It would not work in the dvd player. I made over 20 attempts to clean the machine by inserting disk an dpressing play and eject and play. I repeatedly got this error message: 'This type of disc cannot be played. Please insert a different disc".
I am very dissapointed. Now I have to look for info on how to return this item, pay postage and return it. Very annoyed it did not work. My dvd player works but I get this message sometimes on movies that have nothing wrong with them so I thought perhaps cleaning it would help. Other movies ,etc. do work, but this cleaning disk would not work at all. Nothing, nada, zip. No picture. No sound.

I have a slot-loading iMac whose DVD drive stopped reading DVDs but was able to read CDs. I figured it was simply the DVD reader lens inside that had gotten dusty or dirty. Before taking my computer in to be repaired, I bought this lens cleaner to see if a few bucks spent on this thing would save the hassle of hauling my computer in. I ran the disc through the drive multiple times, heard it spin and the brushes do their thing, but no luck with my drive. I'm hesitant to leave a really bad review since my problem may have been more severe, but just beware that this product may not do what you're hoping if you're not completely sure that a dirty DVD lens is your problem!Customer Review: Excellent DVD Cleaner!!

I have a Sony DVD player that is a few years old. I also belong to one of those movies by mail companies. Although I would clean each DVD when it came, more often than not my DVD player wouldn't play the DVD. I could take it in on my computer and play it with little or no problem, but that's not nearly as comfortable as stretching out on the couch. I was going to either end my membership in the rental place, or purchase a new DVD player. As a last resort, I purchased this cleaner and it worked exactly like the directions said. I have had no problems with any DVD that I've rented since then. I would highly recommend this to anyone with problems.Customer Review: Fixed My DVD Player/Recorder

My DVD Player/Recorder was having problems recording. Some blank DVDs got the message "Cannot Record To This Disc" and some would record but have skips in the recording. The playback function was still OK. After using this cleaner once, there was a little improvement... but it still wasn't right. I ended up doing the cleaning function 4 times - and now the unit works just fine.
If your problem is stubborn, as mine was, you may need to use the cleaner several times back-to-back. But it made all the difference in the operation of this unit.
NOTE: Memorex recommends you use this product only 10 times... then replace it.

After reading all the reviews on Amazon, I got tempted to give this a try for my DVD player to fix video, only to be dissapointed.
This cleaner did not work on my DVD player which randomly decides to play a DVD or just spit it out. When the product arrived and I read the intructions and the kind of tests that this thing runs, it was obvious that the cleaner is only meant to improve the audio quality and has no tests for the video. This product is only good for CD players and not for DVD players. The item heading/description is misleading in that respect. If buying for a DVD video, you will just waste your money by purchasing this item.
