Customer Review: Didn't fix my problem

Our DVD player just stopped in the middle of a disk one day, and suddenly could not detect the disk--or any disk, for that matter. Thought we'd give $10 a try before shelling out for a new player. Sadly, our player wouldn't recognize this disk either, making its cool audio and cleaning features impossible to assess on the current machine.
Sounds like it's good if you're experiencing skipping, but if you're player is telling you "Please insert disk" when you already have, this is not the solution for you. I have to concur with the other reviewer here who came to the same conclusion, wish I would have read that before buying this cleaner.
We plan to keep this cleaner, and perform some regular "maintenance" with our new player to avoid, or at least prolong, this bitter end.

I am so glad I read reviews before using this-because it may take more than once-but I have a high end panasonic dvd/vcr combo-and all the sudden it couldn't read/play dvds I had recorded-I pay them only on this unit-so I didn't finalize them-and if this unit bites the dust-they won't play on other players-we are talking hundreds of hours of dvds I recorded off vcr tapes. All my dvds read/play now-the unit is 3 years old and never had the lens cleaned-also-If the message reads "NO READ" IT IS STILL CLEANING!!! IN MY BOOK-one of the error messages says "no read" means you have inserted a lens cleaner and it's done! I was so afraid if it couldn't read it-then it couldn't play/ or clean-but it does! It solved my problem and I was already pricing a new recorder/player!Customer Review: Wow, this thing really works!

I don't usually write reviews, but this product worked so well I was compelled to share my experience. Last week I settled in to watch a Netflix and discovered my DVD player had stopped working. I tried repeatedly to insert the DVD and it would immediately eject. I tried to load my DVD player about 100 times with a variety of DVDs and found the player simply would not acknowledge or read my DVDs. So I decided to do a little online research and came across this Memorex CD/DVD Laser Lens Cleaner. Figured for $10 it was worth trying out. After all, that's much less expensive than a repair shop or a new player. Long story short: it worked! The whole process took all of 10 minutes and now my DVD player is working perfectly. Very glad I decided to try this product.Customer Review: Beware!

I would have ranked this product with zero stars if that had been possible.
If you are thinking of buying this product to clean the CD/DVD drive on a computer, do not buy this product.
Although the packaging says that the product can be used on a computer, it cannot.
Memorex "customer service" began by stating that the product was for a CD/
DVD player only. When I pointed out that the item was labeled for computer CD/DVD drives, they said the disk must be defective and offered to send a replacement. The replacement disk was a completely different item and of course, was not labeled for computer drive use.
Do yourself a favor -- take your business to a reputable company and give Memorex a pass.

I have a Sony DVD player from about 4 years ago that was top of the line at the time, and would still be good today if functioning.
Recently however, it was seriously malfunctioning. I would put a DVD in, and it would keep spinning, but then not recognize it at all. It would recognize and play CDs, but they would skip constantly.
I decided to give this a chance for $5 to see if I could recover my player. I ran it once and it seemed to skip less, but would still not recognize DVDs. I thought , maybe if I put it in repeat and run it a few times it might work.
Voila!!! I couldn't believe it, DVDs were recognized and played again. So give it a try, maybe run it a few times!!!!
