Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Memorex 700MB/80-Minute 52x CD-R Media (100-Pack Spindle)Customer Review: Mixed experience Summary: 1 Stars
After using a 100-pack of these with no problems, I did not hesitate to buy another. Sadly my experience with the second lot was very poor. I estimate that about 15% failed to burn. The failures normally occurred near the end of the burn, which corresponds to the outer edge of the disk. As a result I will not purchase this brand again, since it appears that they do not have good process control from one lot to another. Keep in mind that Amazon's return policy is not designed for items that you use up over time. Thirty days after purchase you are on your own.
Customer Review: 9 out of 10 Do The Job... The Rest Have Issues Summary: 4 Stars
First off, great value, great price, and great that it comes with the 100 CD's I really need for all my computing and media needs, especially since it takes me 10 of these to backup my computer fully. And like I said, 9 out of 10 work great, especially when I'm burning a music CD. However, when play back that 10th CD, I've come to find that at least one of the tracks has a defect in them. It's not the music, or the burning method, or the user, it's the CD. But for the price, it's still a great buy. And I highly recommend it, just watch out for that 10th CD.
Customer Review: Terrible Experience with memorex 700mb 52x cdr Summary: 1 Stars
I bought a 100 pack of the memorex 700mb 52x cdrs, and, while they worked at first, after a month or so they all produce "power calibration errors" on my sony crx168b burner, winXP pro, piii600, CD architect, EZCD, etc.. The burner works fine with all other brands. Have not been able to test on another burner, but even this performance is unacceptable. While I have had sucess with memorex in the past, I will look for alternatives in the future. I hope I can save someone the trouble I experienced.
best,
jbg
Customer Review: At $17.99, You'd Be A Fool Not To Get These Summary: 4 Stars
The Memorex 700MB/80-Minute CD-R has always been a favorite of mine. I've been through lots of different writers and all of them were compatible with this brand. In fact, I've been using Memorex for about 4 years now and I've yet to come across any problems. Whether you're making music CDs, backing up files, or just saving pictures, Memorex is probably your best bet. And if you buy two spindles on Amazon, you'll get free shipping. It's pretty much a no brainer. If there's a better brand out there, I haven't seen it yet.
Customer Review: By far the best consumer-grade CD-R Summary: 5 Stars
As a professional audio engineer, I use Memorex-brand CD-Rs for all of my personal audio and data projects. They're even good enough for entry-level professional mastering. While not the same caliber as a gold studio master (2-3x the price), they easily exceed any kind of standard a consumer or prosumer might be looking for. I've used about 800 or so in the past year without any problems. I think most of the problems the reviews are showing is either user error or bad recording equipment--I've never had problems.
