Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Mediabridge Ultra Series - High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet - (10 Feet) - Category 2 Certified - Supports 3D & Audio Return Channel [Latest HDMI Version Available]Customer Review: Fine cable, but not very "sturdy" Summary: 3 Stars
By now, I think we all know that expensive cables on store shelves are overpriced and a waste of money. HDMI cables either work (most do) or they don't for the most part. I've had these cables installed over a year and they worked great, no problems. Recently, I had to pull out my DVR to do some rearranging and when I pushed it back in (not hard at all), the cable caught on something and completely bent the connector. The cable is ruined now and I have to buy a new one.
I hate to ding the cable too much since the picture/sound/etc.. was fine, but the build quality was just not that great. Of course, I know its a relatively cheap cable, so maybe I can't expect much. Before purchasing though, consider the back of your A/V cabinet. If your components require a bit of "persuasion" to get them in the right spot, this might not be the cable for you. I'm replacing it with an AmazonBasics brand, who knows if it will be better.
Customer Review: High Quality without the High Price Summary: 5 Stars
Mediabridge cables always seem to have a high level of quality than the other brands I explore. They're sturdy, thick cables that I think would be very difficult to damage, and I have never had a problem with shoddy connections. Don't fool yourself into thinking that you need to spend much more than a dollar per foot of high quality HDMI cable. Buying a $50-$200 cable isn't going to get you any better results than this thing. Just be sure that when you're buying a cable, the exact model is certified for whichever HDMI spec you desire. If a company has a 3' cable certified for 1.4, it doesn't necessarily mean their 50' cable in the same line is certified for that distance, even if they claim it is. This specific cable does exactly what I need it to do. I'm just sending video from my PS3 to my TV, and the picture is beautiful. I would highly recommend Mediabridge products. It's top quality stuff that won't empty your wallet.
Customer Review: Great HDMI cables at a great price! Summary: 5 Stars
We recently purchased one of the new LED televisions and wanted a good HDMI connection to our PS3, cable signal and home theater receiver. I was in a hurry to get HDMI cables because our new tv was being delivered the next afternoon. I went online and couldn't believe the prices were so reasonable at Mediabridge so I was a little skeptical. I decided to go to our local national chain electronics store and saw that HDMI cables are over $90 a piece. That's crazy! I decided to take my chances and try Mediabridge, thinking I could send them back if I wasn't satisfied with the signal. I bought three HDMI cables and had them overnighted all for under $55. The television looks GREAT and I'm totally satisfied. If you're skeptical, go to CNET.com and watch the video on HDMI cables. There's absolutely no difference as long as you buy comparable type cables. Don't throw your money away, order HDMI cables from Mediabridge.
Customer Review: Great cable - awesome price Summary: 5 Stars
Having read many reviews and articles on HDTV and HDMI cables I decided to buy 2 of these 10ft cables ( cause you never know when that extra footage will come in handy ) and though this is the first time I've used HDMI, I think these cables are great. Very sturdy and they have nice connectors.
I am using them with the Samsung HL61A750 61-Inch 1080p LED Powered DLP and a Sony PS3 and Wow ! The picture is Awesome !
Don't waste your money buying those $100 plus dollar cables, the cables from Mediabridge are just as good for Far less.
I ordered them Friday afternoon and paid 6.99 / per item for the express shipping and they were there Saturday morning. Total price was 37.96 and the cheapest cable I found locally was $27.99 and for the $10 more these cables are I'm sure far better than the ones I saw in the local retail store -- the local ones looked cheap.
Customer Review: Incredible value Summary: 5 Stars
I'm using three of these to connect my Oppo BD-83 blu-ray player, Comcast/Motorola HD cable box, and an 1st gen AppleTV to my Vizio HDTV. I have not tested 3D, ARC, or Ethernet capabilities, but they work great for 1080p movies and HD sports.
Simply put, this is all the cable you need for connecting a digital device to your HDTV. The build quality is good, and the price can't be beat. As for picture & audio quality, bandwidth is the only thing you need to worry about on a digital cable, and this has plenty for almost any application. This cable is Category 2 certified, so you know it has enough bandwidth to support 1080p, 3D, deep color, audio return channel, and ethernet! Unless your equipment specifies that you need a higher bandwidth than Category 2, spending more on a cable will not improve the picture or sound quality!
