Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Maximo FM Transmitter and Car Charger for Sansa MP3 PlayersCustomer Review: Works Perfectly with Sansa Fuze Summary: 5 Stars
Of the FM Transmitters that I have used, either for Sansa products or others, this is one of the best. Two of the presets were unavailable due to stations, but the third works perfectly. Also, others have complained about having to turn the volume all the way up to have it work; this made sense as you often have to do that when hooking it up to different audio systems. However, I have only had to turn my Fuze 8GB to about 25% of the volume and it works great. Maybe the complaints were from users of older versions of the Sansa.
The product looks nice and works exactly as stated. Definitely worth the money.
Edit: Depending where I am in the city I do seem to pick up some interference with the unit. The music still plays fine, but once their is a pause, or if I mute it, you can hear the static. Thought I would add that on.
Customer Review: Works great locally, can be a pain on long trips. Summary: 4 Stars
This device works pretty well. It will adjust to almost any frequency that a normal car stereo will and you can set the 3 channel pre-sets for empty frequencies. The sound is as clear as the best radio station that your stereo will tune in. I would recommend this model if you are interested in an FM transmitter.
The only thing I don't like about it is that it will not overpower a radio station (not even a weak one) and all I get is static when I'm using the transmitter and a radio station comes in range. My Avalanche has the second-best factory stereo offered that year and, in a large metro area, it picks up a radio station on almost every frequency. I recently made a 6-hour trip to Dallas, TX and spent a lot of time searching for unused frequencies. I gave up when I got to Dallas because there's a station on every frequency.
Customer Review: This Works Great! Summary: 5 Stars
I have only used this product twice, but both times I have used it, it works flawlessly.
You just plug one end into you MP3 player (I have a sandisk) and the other end into your plug in your car.
You set the station on the transmitter and the same one on your car radio. Of course this has to be an unused station. You can push one of 3 memory buttons and the transmitter remembers your station. It has the capability of 3 stations to put in memory.
It comes in through my stereo speakers of my car. The two times I have used it there is no static at all.
I highly recommend this item.Maximo SAN-360 Car FM Transmitter & Charger For Sansa e200 c200 c100 MP3 Players
Customer Review: Great Sound! Summary: 5 Stars
We tried the Griffin iTrip (which "crackeled" on every "s" sound) and the Dynex (which was more static than music 1/2 the time) to use with our Sansa 260e MP3 player. We even asked our local electronics store customer service desk how to pick the best one. They told us all fm transmitters had a static or crackeling sound and we had to just live with it.
That was not good enough for us, so we took a look at the SanDisk web site to see what they suggested to use with their product. We found this transmitter and purchased it here on Amazon. We were so happy with the clear sounds that came out! Even when the volume was up, it does not "crackel" or "hiss". There is very little static in the background on quiet songs when the car is off, but otherwise it's wonderful! We will recommend it to anyone!
Customer Review: FOR LOUD MUSIC ONLY Summary: 2 Stars
I like this thing. It is easy to use and allows for instant upgrade to MP3 in my car. The downsides? There is always some level of static or other noise audible during quiet music. I don't notice it during loud music and the audio quality seems pretty good given my crappy little car stereo. The device is set on an unused radio channel. My 40 minute commute is through the suburbs. Under the circumstances, I was not expecting interference with the audio signal between the device and the radio. Second, the channel display on the transmitter is not visible when plugged into the lighter outlet. I have to bend way down to see it and cannot make adjustments while driving. Lastly, the device is bulky and interferes with the cup holder in my Honda Civic. If I had to do it over again, I would try another product.
