Customer Review: Works really good
Summary: 4 Stars

I've had this item for 3 weeks and I'm quite satisfied with it.
It works really well with my Sansa C250. As it being a recharger too, it's always nice to get something that does 2 things at once. The volume doesnt adjust though on my sansa when its plugged in.
I live in the Seattle area and found that the 101.X frequencies work best for my Scion. The styling is really nice with the blue LCD and the quality of it looks sturdy. I just left the cord tied up the way it came so it wouldn't dangle everywhere. My sansa just hangs next to the side of my seat almost like a remote control. It was very easy to set up. No need to read instructions. You just have to play around and find the best preset for you. Would give it 5 stars if the audio time was over 90 percent of the time static proof but right now its at about 85 percent no static depending on where I drive and what song I'm listening to. Also the quality and bitrate of your mp3's will determine the sound quality.

Customer Review: Acceptable product, but not outstanding
Summary: 3 Stars

this is my first fm transmitter, so i don't know what to compare it to except my car cd player and fm radio. the problem i was afraid would plague the transmitter is certainly there: signal strength. it's been impossible for me to find a band that is isolated enough to avoid getting static at some point along my drive from work to home. i've found one that is "close enough" and i'm tired of fiddling with it. it also has sound quality issues. there is a particular frequency in the treble range that always sounds staticky. i'm not entirely sure this doesn't come from the sansa, but at least i never notice it w/ my earbuds. still, it works and provides me w/ a way to listen to my mp3s that i was missing before and my sansa is always charged, which was a problem for me before b/c i was too lazy to charge it often. for full disclosure, i have grado headphones at home and super.fi 5 earbuds on the go. my issues w/ sound quality may not apply to non-audiophiles.

Customer Review: Works like it should but not worth the higher price point!
Summary: 4 Stars

This transmitter works like it should but I don't think it works any better than the lower priced Griffin itrip or any of the other options available for the Sansa Players*.

Positives:
1. It dose look cooler than the other ones and the matching blue background screen color is a nice touch.
2. 3 presets (other options also offer this).
3. Mounts, rather than just hangs, as some others do.

Cons:
1. Expensive
2. The quality of reception is no better than any other commercially available transmitter.

The product works as it should and has some cool features but I don't think it's worth the extra money (in some instances double) then other options available on Amazon.

* For best sound buy a stereo deck with a built in MP3 player option, there are many on the market priced near/under $100. The sound quality with a transmitter is just not enough to feel/enjoy the music IMO.

Customer Review: FM transmitter
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased this device to enable listening to my Sansa MP3 player in
my car. The first thing I noticed was that the volume on my radio
had to be increased to unusual levels. After a week of fiddling with
different frequency locations to attempt to find a clear signal, I had
finally settled on a band that I thought would work. My first trip out of town disabused of this idea as the constant fizzing and static made listening impossible. After another week of meticulously going through
the entire FM frequency spectrum (and another out of town excursion), I decided I had had enough and went and bought a wired connector that plays through the cassette port. The wired component only cost a third
of what the Maximo cost and works flawlessly. The Maximo unit can still be used as a charger for the Sansa player while on trips.

Customer Review: Stiff price, but it works.
Summary: 4 Stars

This is my 3rd FM transmitter for the car. The first two were inexpensive and had so much static that they were unusable. It is a shame to have to pay around $50 to listen to an MP3 player (the e280) which only cost about twice that. But at least it works.

The first frequency I tried had a little noise when I turned the volume way up, but the second had no background noise whatsoever.

I give it 4 stars, the average of 5 for performance and 3 for price.

NEW INFORMATION:

Funny thing happened with my Sansa e280. It turned out to be a Sansa VIEW delivered to me by mistake. It is odd that neither Maximo nor Amazon mentions that the Maximo FM transmitter will also work with the Sansa VIEW, but it does.
