Customer Review: Buyer Beware - Only Stretches to 20ft

I can't believe I am reviewing a cable. Anyway, I have been using the Maxell cord for a little over a month, and I am pleased with my purchase. However, despite the fact that the cord is advertised as 20ft, it only stretches comfortably to a little less than 10ft (I measured, trust me). This is not a problem for me, but if you were expecting the thing to stretch like an old phone cable across the room, you are falling into the same trap as the designers of this product. While the old wired phones could be stretched because you could constantly apply pull to the receiver, the idea does not work well with headphones and a thicker cord, unless you plan on holding the cord with your hands the whole time. Not to mention the fact that phone cables lock into their ports with a little plastic clip and the Maxell cable is likely to fly out even if you choose to fight with the cable. The sound quality was quite good, just softer than usual, though I am unsure of the quality of the adapters. You should measure the distance between what you want to hook up right now. If it is over ten feet, save yourself the heartache and buy a longer, cheaper cord.
