I had a disk that froze in 2 spots due to some scratches. Once it froze, the only thing I could do was to eject the disk.
I had purchased this product a couple of years prior and never used it. I remembered I had it, and tried it on this disk. After shaking it good (as per directions), it came out about the consistency of auto liquid paste wax. Waited 5 minutes (as per directions), and then applied light pressure. Then, used the separate cleaning solution with a clean cloth.
Viola, the disk no longer freezes in these 2 spots. It would've cost me $24 if I had to replace this disk, so I've already saved more than this product cost.
I'm sure this product won't work in all cases, depending on the severity of the scratches. And if you're too aggressive wiping the cleaner, I guess it could cause more damage. The trick is probably to not be too aggressive initially. The instructions do say if it doesn't work the first time, you can reapply so it seems better to start with light polishing the first try or two.
I'm not a shrill, don't work for the company, blah, blah, blah. I'm just happy the product worked in my case.
