Customer Review: Perfect for light use. Excellent for youth soccer photos

My wife and I use this monopod to take action photos of our sons' soccer team. We use a Nikon D70 with a Nikon ED 70 - 300 mm 1:4-5.6. This monopod eliminates handheld vibration (even at high shutter speeds) especially when the lens is maxed out at 300mm. Don't let your kids play with it. They can destroy anything. On the foot of the monopod is a plastic cover which our kids managed to pull off. It appears to be friction fitted so it can come off. The monopod screws into the D70. When compressed, the monopod is only about 19 inches long and weights about 12 ounces. Perfect for light use.Customer Review: Monopod Ok but thin paint job

The monopod was ordered in antcipation of an overseas trip and arrived in a timely fashion and exactly as ordered. I took it on a couple of short hikes through wooded areas (1 to 2 miles each)and when I next looked at it the paint had worn where the monopod rubbed against my Lowpro flipside 300 pack and the underlying aluminum was showing through. While this does not effect function of the monopod and a coating of auto wax on the top section seems to have prevented further scratches it does seem to indicate a failure in the quality control system tha Manfrotto uses.Customer Review: Manfrotto Monopod 676B

This product is one of the best things I've ever stolen from either son! At age 72, I used it on a 6-week geology field camp in Montana. The monopod served well as a walking staff in rough brush and on unstable mountain sides. It was essential to good photo shooting for this guy with hand tremors, and it was great for letting rattlesnakes under rocks know that I wanted them out of the way. On the negative side, the strap "walked" on its own because the buckle friction was insufficient.Customer Review: Lightweight monopod

This monopod is lightweight and extends long enough for a 6 foot person to use. I take it with me to the softball fields. It packs nicely into a backpack. The only improvement I would make is the wrist strap. It comes loose rather easily so you can lose it. It's fallen off once or twice already in the month I've had the product. I also recommend getting the Bogen-Manfrotto 3229 Swivel Tilt Head with Quick Release.Customer Review: Steady hand

The Bogen/Manfrotto 676B monopod is a nice addition to my photo equipment. Fit and finish is excellent. It is pretty lightweight and provides excellent additional stability when you don't want to bother carrying a full tripod. I added a quick release, tilting head to complete the set-up so that I can take landscape (horizontal) pictures as well as portrait (vertical). Very satisfied. Very nice tool for the price.
