I just purchased this pod as a replacement for an older, aluminum Bogen/Manfrotto that, honestly, weighed a ton. This CF pod is so light that I didn't even notice it while strapped over my shoulder. I'm using it with a well sized Manfrotto ball head, and the combo is perfect. This pod has a lot of versatility as far as how it can be set up and positioned, and thus far is a great addition to my gear.Customer Review: Great tripod

I looked around for the best buy for my needs and chose this tripod. I have a Canon 40D and the largest lens I use is a Canon 400mm f 4.6 and it rides very well on this tripod. It collapses quickly and is very well made. I've been using it for apx. 2 months with numerous field trips. It is light and very sturdy. The Quick Center Column system works excetionaly well. I've been using this tripod for about a year and a half now. The only time it has not met my expectations is when it has exceeded them. It is very light weight yet solid. It does not come with a carrying case, but it's light enough that I've not yet even considered buying one. After over a year it shows no sign of wear and tear. Not going to waste a lot of space but the previous two reviewers covered it all. I'm pleasantly surprised and tickled to death with my purchase. Good value ... no great value.

Great Stuff. I was looking for a good tripod for a long time, everything matched my required specifications (very low weight,decent load capability) but was doubtful about the height. But am very happy with the product, and height also works perfect for me at 5'9".
