Customer Review: Ordered new unit and received refurbished unit.

The unit itself is ok, other than the battery was completely dead on arrival. The real problem is I ordered a new unit, on sale directly from Amazon and I was sent a refurbished unit, with the previous users home address and destination addresses still in the memory of the GPS. I finally found the phone number for Amazon, which isn't easy. They should have sent me a new unit and picked up my refurbished unit. Instead, I have to send back the unit I received, for a refund. The new units are no longer on sale, so I would have to buy a refurbished unit or pay a lot more. I said ok, then just credit me the difference of what I paid for a new one, to the price you sell a refurbished one for. Amazon said, "no". Part of my purchase price was a gift card, so, I am afraid things will get even more screwed up if I return it. I am very disappointed with Amazon.Customer Review: Better than expected.

I just bought it for fun. I was impressed how fast it find the way. I made wrong turns to test this unit, it re calculate very fast. I was going to buy one with text to voice(like make left turn on 1st street, not like left turn on 0.5 mile) but with is unit I don't need that expensive option. It give ding dong signal about 30 ft before I need to make turn, this is very important when you drive. Last Sunday I test this unit to find the way to my church, it find faster way that I didn't know before. I save 5 min. drive bec. of that. Size is big. people who intrested buy 7 in screen, forget it this is big enough and doesn't cover you sight to the road. It comes with case for this unit, ac power cord, and suction cup and the mounting adapter. I am very happy with it. I wish I could add business time on POI and my favorite locations. I bought this GPS before a trip to Ft. Lauderdale from my new home in Athens, GA. I received it the day before the trip, so I didn't have much time to read the directions, other than how to charge the batteries. It was fairly easy to use, however, and made the trip much more enjoyable. I did, however, have two situations crop up, one in each direction, which were peculiar. The unit written instructions under the map were correct, yet the verbal instructions were incorrect at two major route changes. If you're following the verbal instructions, you find out you've gone the wrong way when the next verbal instruction you hear is "recalculating route". This was a bit annoying as it caught me the first time and I had to drive 15 miles before I could turn around. All in all it's pretty effective, but I would caution users that it's not 100% perfect.Customer Review: Not worth the hassle

We purchased this product. It took 7 days just to get an email back. We put it on our credit card. One day it would say pending, then another day it would be gone. I called multiple times on the issue and they said it was the distributions department that is holding it up. Let me call them and get back to you. Then I would hear nothing for about a week. After 3 weeks we called and canceled the product. We were told we would not be charged. Then we see the charge on our credit card. They sent it out anyway. So we called and they said to deny the package and then it would take 7-10 days to refund our money. We denied the package and then it took another 2 weeks because they never updated the shipping info so they had no clue where the package was. Not sure how the product works but I would never purchase from Ritz Camera again.Customer Review: Does not say street names - Received 20% refund

I conacted Amazon customer service over this and was offered a refund of $63/- (20%). I am very pleased and If I could update the rating, I would give them 5 stars.
Two main reasons I bought this one over 3100 were,
(1) Larger widescreen
(2) "Hear turn-by-turn directions with street names as you enjoy your driving experience virtually to any destination in the U.S. and Canada " - as listed under Technical details.
However, I find that the voice guidance is by distance only.
I give this 3 stars because I have another 3100 which does everything this one does for $100/- less and a slightly smaller screen.
