Customer Review: Making profit in shipping charges.

The product works quite well. I have already used a couple of these units for instrument control. I have no issues with the units. I purchase 5 then a couple minutes later I purchased 15 more for a total of 20 units. My issue is with mailing. The vendor charged a per / piece shipping charge. For the fifteen units I was charged $34.95 for the items and $46.25 for shipping. For the five piece order I was charged $11.65 for the items and $16.75 for shipping and handling. The total shipping for twenty units came to $63.00. All twenty units were shipped in a single box for $5.55. The result is a 74% profit and a $57.45 shipping and handling charge for a small book box that only weighs under a pound.
No one will take responsibility for this error. I have been gathering and sorting this out. When I picked this package up from the post office I showed the counter clerk this information. I was told that if I was charged a per piece price that there should have been 20 receipts, twenty tracking and insurance slips and twenty packages. Placing 5 units in a bag inside a box with 15 other units and charging a per piece price is not right. I would advise buyers to always check their bills and see what was charged for what. I do not think that Using the United States Postal Service for making a profit is right. Do you?

I bought this to use a bluetooth headset with skype and to transfer files between my phone. I've been unable to do either. I use Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit and though windows can find a default driver for the USB device there are no drivers for anything Bluetooth peripheral you might try to connect. The software, even the latest version downloaded from the manufacturer, crashes the instant vista boots preventing you from using any bluetooth device with your computer.
I tried the same thing on XP and it worked fine. The software installed like it was supposed to and I could pair my devices with it. The problem is I don't use XP on my main computer and this means the device is almost worthless to me. At least I didn't pay too much for it.

The manufacturer now claims their software works in Vista. Its a lie. It seemed to work for a while, but after a day or so of using it the thing crashed on me. If you still want to try the latest version of the software, you'll have to buy it. This is adapter isn't very high price, but you'll be paying with all the frustration it causes you.

Considering the extremely low price, I was doubtful whether this product would work well. I was very pleasantly surprised!
I was disappointed to see NO INSTRUCTIONS in the box. I put the CD in the drive and installed the software on my wife's HP laptop with Windows XP Home Edition. I had to keep telling Windows Defender to let the software install. (This might be tricky for a beginning user.) After I rebooted, everything came up fine.
My Motorola RAZE V3R paired up with the new Bluetooth adapter fine, and I was able to transfer files from the phone to the laptop right away. The laptop user interface allowed me to cut and paste multiple files at a time. This was great because the integrated Bluetooth on Thinkpad only allows me to transfer one file at a time.
I am extremely impressed with the functionality for such a low price. I will probably buy more at this price. However, I think beginning users will have a tough time with this, because of the lack of instructions and the nonintuitive user interface.

This card does not, and I will repeat, DOES NOT, work as a common customer would expect it to. It will NOT run with any built in bluetooth software (i.e. Windows Bluetooth functionality) Instead it utilizes a BlueSolei software package that does not offer the same functionality as a name brand bluetooth card (which supports the in house software). This is a textbook case of cheap, quick manufactured technology pawned off on unsuspecting customers that believe they are getting a bargain. Notice how there is no company name behind this product (i.e. Linksys, Belkin, MSI, etc) Do yourself a favor- pay the extra amount for a quality product that offers support for their customers. You will have more success with drivers for multiple versions of the operating system you will use and also have access to fully functioning software. Do not buy this product, Do some research. The unit comes with BlueSoleil software which seems to perform ok on a 32bit xp machine, however I moved to a 64bit XP box and the software wouldn't install. Went to the website, downloaded the 64bit, version 5 software, installed, worked in demo mode but when I tried to purchase (through the option provided by the software UI) I'm told by the site that the hardware address is invalid (11:11:11:11:11:11) and as such I'm unable to purchase the updated software. When it was on my 32bit XP laptop it worked with minimal issues but sometimes had difficulty recognizing BT devices which were sitting just a foot away from the dongle or had difficulty pairing up with a unit after it was discovered. OK unit for the price, but there are better solutions out there depending on your needs.
