Overall I like it:
- Assembly was quick
- A nice feature is that two USB cables are provided: a data cable and a power cable. When I use both cables to connect it to my Macbook's two USB ports, I don't have any problems with the drive shutting down intermittently, as has happened with other enclosures I tried.
- It also works flawlessly with the included firewire cable.
Customer Review: It's a 5 star item except for one tiny flaw.

Great case. It took me probably all of three or four minutes from start to finish. They even enclosed two extra screws in case you lost one or both of the originals. The only flaw is the blue/red LED. I use this drive with my Mac Mini for media storage. The light is bright enough to use as a night light. I ended up covering it with four layers of black felt tip marker darkened Scotch tape.Customer Review: Imposible USB faster vs FW

I can't believe that over test making copying large files, over WIN7, the USB connection was more fast by almost 30% than the Firewire connection... That's not the right behavior... I'll search new drivers and updates least to update confirming my desagree over this product or saving my vote... This is a great enclosure for a 2.5" SATA drive. The case is solid, but heavier than cheap enclosures, and dissipates heat very well. I have one now but will buy more since they are well built and can handle upgrading drives in the future for more space.
It works fine with Macs--older G5 and newer Intel computers.

Plugged in the Seagate Momentus 7200 FDE 320-GB Hard Drive into the Macally Storage Enclosure and all worked as advertised. The LED is RED when using firewire.I did not find it too bright as other reviews noted. Needed firewire to work with Pro Tools Mbox2 and Mini Mbox. This makes my system complete.
