Ordered cable to take to the beach. Wanted to watch videos on TV, at cottage, and wasn't sure of the type of TV that was there. All TV's have the standard "video in" so felt safe about the cable type. Just wasn't sure if this cable would work with the Ipod 5G, after reading all of the reviews. Connected cable to my HDTV and changed settings within the Ipod and it worked perfectly. Only issue is that my Ipod cover (which is rubber) would not easily allow the cable end to fully seat within the jack. So you have to make sure that the jack is fully inserted into the Ipod opening or remove the cover. This is an awsome product (especially for the price). I just recently tested the Macally Audio and Video Cable for my iPod Video (30 GB) and it works great! The clarity is wonderful. Just a suggestion: In video settings, turn the widescreen on, the picture is not that great full screen. But when the widescreen is on, the picture quality is beautiful.
Also another sidenote: I've tested this on the iPod Nano (3rd Generation) and it doesn't work. So far as I know this only works with the iPod Video. Also, when using this product make sure to turn the "video out" on, some people seem to have trouble with that.

After almost buying several cables at local stores, having seen this listed on Amazon and read the reviews, I just had to take a chance. . . I couldn't stomach paying upwards of $30 for technically the same product. Boy am I glad I did! The Macally Audio and Video Cable for my Video iPod works PERFECTLY! I have once again been able to expand the use of my iPod and further justify its cost and the cost of its contents.
I was suspicious about why I got such a great deal, but hey, sometimes its best not to look the gift horse in the mouth.
This product works great and the service was spectacular!

I purchased this AV cable from one of the 3rd party sellers. I brought the cable to connect my iPod to my portable DVD player (reason for the four stars) but the picture quality was very bad and I had problems with the picture appearing on the screen. The box stated the cable was 'made in China' but there wasn't any information in the box about the cable nor the company that made the cable. But it works great connected to the TV. Picture quality is great and I had no problems with using it with my TV connection. I would recommend it to use connecting your iPod to the TV but not a portable DVD player.Customer Review: Inexpensive and works!

Got this for our 30 GB iPod Video. I also considered the $49 cable from Apple which plugs into the iPod connector port. This works quite well. The price was right for something that's not compatible with the iPod Touch (as far as I know). Once, I had to jiggle the connection to the iPod to clear up some streaks on the video (seen on a TV). Otherwise, it's performed flawlessly.
Build seems to be of good quality. It's attractive.
For those that don't know, just go to video settings on your iPod video and set the iPod to ask about the TV-out settings when starting a video.
