I have wanted one of these keyboard covers ever since I saw someone with one on their laptop, but I was put off by the high prices listed in store websites. A few weeks ago, the outer case that I had on my laptop broke and I set out to buy a new one. Then I saw a link for this keyboard cover. Even though I've had my 2008 Macbook for a few years now, I think that it's never too late to protect a great investment, so I immediately ordered this cover. I'm truly very pleased with its value.
What I would want to know before buying:
-This keyboard cover fits the late-2008 Macbook model perfectly! It molds well over every key and even protects the wrist areas.
-The material is a soft, thin, and smooth silicon in a light, clear, and adorable pink. It's sticky (without residue) on the side that goes over the keys, which keeps it in place while typing.
-It's clear enough that you can see the gray lettering perfectly (the 2008 Macbook model does not have backlighting).
-When you type over this cover, the keys do feel muffled and "squishier"--personally, I like this. It makes typing in a classroom, for example, much quieter. And if the plasticky click of keys annoys you, this cover muffles that sound nicely.
-It will really protect your keyboard and keep your white keys nice and clean. You can take the cover off every few weeks, depending on how dirty it gets, and rinse it with some water and a gentle soap, lay it out to dry, and reuse the freshened cover.
-This cover is an amazing value: other keyboard covers are much more expensive, made of the same material, and often don't even cover the wrist areas!
-The seller offers excellent customer service--don't hesitate to email them if any problems arise with your order!
Overall, this keyboard cover offers great protection and style for your late-2008/first generation Macbook at a great price.
