I brought this last year, almost exactly, and at first, yes I did have the troubles with typing, because the texture of the keys is radically different. But after a month it was all smooth sailing, actually normal keyboards are now the ones that are awkward to type on as I slip over the slick surfaces. So for a whole year this has been doing a awesome job against dust, pet hair, crumbs, liquid, finger dirt the works. I can tell you its been through the college workout!
BUT I have to say that I am now highly annoyed at it. I have started to notice a rough spot on my N key, after a month it's a full blown hole which is distracting to say the least. It has also started on the A key. I do not have long nailed nor has it been taken off the keys and abused. Its just from all the typing. I'd give this a 5 star review if it could hold up longer. I still plan on buying a new one, I'd rather have one than not.
The good thing is that it does do it's job, you do get used to typing on it quickly, and its not expensive.

I decided to buy a cover for my Macbook when I realized how dirty the white surface was getting - especially the place where I rest my hands - and how annoying it was to wipe it perfectly clean. I performed this inglorious task one last time and threw this silicon cover on my keyboard. Typing is a little heavier now, it takes a little effort to get used to it, but in two weeks everything is perfect again. I use it with a hard cover shell, and it doesn't fit so perfectly on the outer edges, but it doesn't actually matter - the cover will stay in place where it matters most. It covers the spot where I rest my hands and makes it softer, which is great because the sharp bottom edge of my old Macbook would hurt my wrists without the cover.
You won't find anything better for this price - I payed something like four bucks for it. Even if it gets ruined in a year or so, still a great buy. I'll just put in another four bucks and enjoy NOT having to see a dirty white surface.

For the price this item is unbeatable. Unfortunately it's edges do go over the edges of the MacBook so if you're using a case for your computer the keyboard cover won't stay flat. It fits well over the keyboard but not perfectly. I love that it's transparent and there are no letters printed on the cover. You'll definitely notice it's on as you type but it didn't make it any harder to type at all. I see no difference in my typing speed or an increase in typing errors. It covers the bottom edges of the wrist area which is great because I've had so many problems with that area breaking. I use it with the BestSkinsEver wrist and mousepad guard which helps the silicone stay on a little better. Overall great product for a really good price! I'm glad I don't have to worry about my white computer discoloring or the edges cracking.Customer Review: nice thin cover

I was looking for a long time for my macbook white to get a keyboard cover. This one is very clear, and with it on, you can barely tell that there is a cover at all. You can definitely tell, though, that the cover is on because it makes typing a little harder. I had never used a keyboard cover before, so am not used to it yet. The silicone material just makes it harder for fingers to slide. In my opinion this cover is inexpensive and fits my macbook's keyboard perfectly. The static stickyness is just right on the back. Is this product amazing? I wouldnt say that. Does it do the job? Absolutely. I've found the cover is a less than perfect fit and comes loose while I'm typing but really is not a big deal. It keeps the keyboard covered and thats really all I want it to do. For the price I paid, it does exactly what I would expect it to do. My boyfriend also has a Mac and he got one of the covers from Apple. He likes it better because its thinner and less noticable and doesnt come loose like mine, but he also paid 6 times as much. This product gets the job done but you will notice that its there. Still a good deal in my opinion.
