The wire thickness is clearly acceptable, though there were a few problems. One, the entire length barely exceeded 90 feet. 100 feet, I do not think so. The wire is also half aluminum which is pretty typical of wire, but it did not say so in the description. So there are two problems.
One, false advertising from the company with claiming it is 100 feet.
Two, the material is half aluminum when the description clearly says copper.
For the price, you have to say it is good value. But I'm just annoyed that this is falsely advertised. Hence, I took away one star.

I use this speaker wire for full range surround back speakers running 40 ft at 140 watts max. It works great. If you're worried about quality, you don't have to be. If your not running long distances, you will be fine with 14 or 16 gauge. Save some money! Speaker wire thickness has a lot of false hype out there.
Update: I got burned a couple times on my future purchases. Yes, it wasn't the correct length and I had to waste my time and money and go to a local store. Have they been sued yet? Maybe it's time.

I ordered the Metra label wire and was sent this, which I gather is also made by Metra. I can tell it's cheap compared to the Monoprice wire I used for 3 HT speakers before running out of a 100 ft. spool. I can't strip away the plastic cover without breaking strands of wire - very thin and brittle. This was easy to do with the Monoprice. Clearly a difference in quality. Almost doesn't look like 12 gauge. Surprised, because Amazon has high standards and I trust the brands they sell even when I'm not familiar with them.Customer Review: 100 feet is only 88.5feet cable is short by huge amount-china

This is the worst case of stealing from the consumer in a long time. The cable is not all copper, just one side and the length is 11 1/2 feet short of 100ft! wow! This product is shown on other sites[google search] as almost always short by huge amounts of feet not 2 inches, but eleven plus feet short.
I had to drive 70 miles to pick up a cable after this lemon came. I could not finish the install that day. waste of time for this raptor wire.

The speaker wire is great. I ordered a 100 foot spool and a 50 foot spool to wire my new 6.1 polk speaker set. After receiving the wire I measured the 50 foot spool and discovered it was barely 45 feet long! I'm a little disappointed that I only recieved 90% of the product I paid for. I haven't had a chance to measure the 100 foot spool but I'm afraid it may only have 90 feet. The quality of the wire is great, I only wish they would ship the amount I paid for. I hope I don't need to order more wire.
