Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Raptor S12-100 12 Gauge Clear Speaker Wire - 100ft.Customer Review: Great speaker wire Summary: 5 Stars
I bought several 100' spools of the Metra "Raptor" 12-gauge wire for wiring a 7.1 Surround system, used for in-wall wiring in my new house prior to the drywall being installed. The cost of copper has caused the cost of speaker wire to skyrocket over the past couple of years, but 12-gauge is the way to go if you intend on having long runs of speaker wire through your house or office.
The price of the Metra 12-gauge wire was as good as I could find anywhere, even after searching eBay for several hours. I pulled this wire through holes that I drilled in floor joists and wall studs without problems, the wire sheathing never tore or cracked, so it's definitely durable. If you're looking for reasonably-priced wire that will more than do the job, the Metra "Raptor" 12-gauge wire is great stuff.
Customer Review: I don't understand why people complain....... Summary: 4 Stars
I really don't know what people are complaining about on the negatives of this product. I have a very large room and needed 250 ft of wire. I ordered 3 spools of 100'. First off this is 12 gauge wire....those people who are calling it 14 or smaller really need a head check. Second off, we measured the spools as we used them and were not shorted at all! At all. I am wondering if the people who receive short spools know how to measure? We upgrade our surround sound system from a 5.1 channel to a 7.1 channel. On our old we used a 16 gauge wire....you can definitely notice the difference. This is exactly what I thought it would be.
For those who need "name" brands like Monster cable, don't bother, the extra 20 bucks a spool is clearly for the name.......
Customer Review: It's not even a 100 ft long Summary: 3 Stars
I bought 2-100ft wire and during installation I noticed that I'm short by 10ft, yes it's only 90ft long. So I open the other one and same thing. But I have to install it since I have the time, it's a little tight but just made it where I want the speakers to be. I always like to put some extra in case I need to move the speakers. The wire itself is a very high quality product, no regrets on getting this wire it's just this company seems to be a little short on their product information.
So I called Amazon the next day to inform this and they immidieately refund some money to me for the missing 20ft cable. Amazon is know for best service and that's the reason why I'm still buying from their website.
Hope this helps.

Customer Review: Another "Shorted" Customer Summary: 2 Stars
Ordered this to build some speaker cables for our church monitors. Fairly good wire, good guage (fyi - it is very close to actually being 12 gauge, which surprised me). Holds up to solder well. BUT...it is NOT 100' of cable. As with others, we are 10 feet short of 100'.I had red the reviews, and took a chance because we needed clear cable that would "hide" well in the Sanctuary. Cable carries voltage well, little resistance change, pushing 4 ohm with no problem or heat buildup. Given all this - I have to ask...why are you shorting us 10 feet in cable? If you had advertized this as 90' - I would still have purcahsed it.
Customer Review: Solid Wires with Color Coding - Watch for length though Summary: 4 Stars
These speaker wires look and feel solid. The color coding on these is very helpful when running the wire over longer lengths. The only issue was that the wires were close to 15feet short when I started running them. I called Amazon about it and they offered to discount the price of the item by 30%. Fair enough Amazon. That's the reason why we continue to do business with you.
I would recommend buying these wires for their construction quality. But, ensure that you buy 20-30% more than what you need because these might come up short while you are in the middle of an install, which is not fun to deal with.
