Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech diNovo MiniCustomer Review: GREAT IDEA BUT ........ Summary: 3 StarsI really, really could not wait to get this for my HDTV. The results have been mixed.
When this product works properly it is an EXCELLENT tool. I only have one major complaint but it is a doozy. My diNovo Mini easily looses its connection. I have followed posted advise by taking the battery out and then back in, which seems to solve the issue but it is a hassle. The other issue is minor. There is no scroll feature that I could find.
The keyboard itself is fine and I had no problem with the size of the buttons (as noted by some). I really like the size and functionality of it when it works!
I own many Logitech products and purchased this with confidence but I am not so happy with the mixed results. I still use it but sometimes the crashes frustrate me and I have to walk away from it.
I wait with fingers crossed that a updated or better version is released.
Customer Review: Good for what it is! Summary: 5 StarsExcellent as a pseudo-remote for using a PC hooked up to a large HDTV. Ample range and response time is also good. Not recommended for typing Term Papers, but IMs and short emails are fine.
Customer Review: Small but functional Summary: 5 StarsLet me start out by saying I love this keyboard. It installed instantly in Ubuntu Linux (Jaunty 9.04) and never looked back. It takes some time to get used to. It's like typing on a really big Blackberry, but the mouse/pad works great and once you learn when to use the "FN" button to find the missing characters, it is really easy to type e-mails, urls, and text commands.
For a home theater computer or kitchen computer, this would be an ideal keyboard.
Battery life is about a month on a single charge, and that was with a lot of use. I didn't time the recharge, but it was less than 4 hours, and it works while charging, so you aren't really out any time using it.
Overall, I give this a perfect rating. Some will argue about it being too small -- but it's perfect for what it was designed for. If you want a full sized keyboard, buy a different one.
Customer Review: Great product Summary: 5 StarsNothing else comes close - elegant and functional. Sits on my night stand when not in use and operates a dedicated hidden PC just great, both in Media Center Mode and as a standard keyboard/mouse setup. While it is not a replacement for a "regular" setup it sure works great for casual browsing, email, movies and the like.
Customer Review: Logitech diNovo Mini Summary: 5 StarsThis Logitech diNovo Mini is a great Product. I am using my 17" MacBook Pro as a media center computer when I'm not using it in laptop mode. When in Media Center mode I setup the MacBook, connect my 42" HD TV from DVI out on the MacBook Pro to the HDMI in on my HD TV. I connect the sound out to my 5.1 sound system. I can connect the diNovo via bluetooth while the laptop is open. I close the laptop and let it fall asleep. I wake the MacBook Pro with the diNovo keyboard. (You have to set up your system to allow bluetooth devices to wake your MacBook in the System Preferences). I can the run Hulu Desktop app, or Boxee or even Front Row from the diNovo. Its great to be able to watch Internet TV sites on the big screen. I don't advise this for running standard computer applications (e-mail, web browsing, etc) on the big screen because from the couch across the room even on a 42" HD TV the print is too small to read when the screen is at 1080 x 1920.. Watching internet TV is great though! There is lots of great stuff to watch on Hulu, Boxee, display your pictures and home movies for your friends with Front Row.
