Customer Review: The best out there but still needs work
Summary: 4 Stars

Without a doubt the best thing out there that has keyboard and touchpad everyone knows. This is my 3rd dinovo edge.....Why? Right below the touchpad you have the left and right buttons that stick after about 6 months of use. First to go is the left button, then after a few months the right button goes. The scroll feature I just love because you can pan and scroll from the keybad, no need to reposition. The keypad is silent but really needs to be backlit like the new microsoft 8000 system. The battery life is phenominal and charges pretty quick. The docking system, they really didn't think much about. If you don't drop it in the slot, it wedges itself in and especially at night you can't see much and IT IS black. I really wanted to give this review a 3 because the product really failed way to soon but the seemless integration of keyboard and touchpad along with flawless bluetooth connectivity, I bumped it back up to a 4. Bluetooth had some problems that I figured out to be my phone's bluetooth that was smack in the line of site between the keyboard and the computer. I moved my phone to the other side of the table and it was fixed. I also moved the usb dongle to the top of my computer for shorter line of site.

To recap if your listening Logitech:

It needs a more ergonomic keyboard shape and left right buttons that don't fail. All I do is buy a new one from fry's and put the old one right in the box and send it back to you anyways :-). Docking needs a wedge free design and FINALLY, please move the touchpad up on the keyboard at least 3 inches so I can rest my wrist on the keyboard comfortably and not curled up and hanging off the edge of the keyboard. (This touch pad location has led me to a numbness in my wrist so I am now giving up the edge for a optical trackball design).

Customer Review: So close to perfection!
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased this keyboard for use with my HTPC and I am extremely satisfied with the purchase. It is a solid keyboard, the trackpad works well, the Bluetooth connectivity is fine even in spite of the preponderance of RF emissions flying around on the ground floor of my house.

There are just a few little niggles that keep me from giving this keyboard a five star rating:

1) The trackpad is too small. The software does a good job of making the best possible use of the space provided, but still, it feels like an extra squared half-inch would have been useful.

2) The trackpad buttons are a bit too stiff. I'd like to see them loosened up a bit and that may yet happen with more use over time.

3) At this price point, there's no reason all the keys shouldn't have backlighting. It's a premium keyboard at a premium price, and it's one that will be put to use in HTPC applications due to its inclusion of a trackpad. In other words, it will probably get used in DARK ROOMS. Having a little backlight from the keys would prove very useful in those situations.

But outside of those minor gripes, the keyboard is very good, has a very solid feel to it, is stylish looking, as is its charging base stand, and just plain works well.

Customer Review: Best Keyboard EVER made
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this keyboard for my husband, it was worth every dollar, it is amazing and my husband loves it. Best keyboard ever made.

Customer Review: Stupid nagging issues for a keyboard this expensive
Summary: 2 Stars

The keyboard looks great (from the front). It seems pretty well built too. After reading the reviews, it looked good for HTPC usage. It's not really cut out for HTPC usage though.

The problems I have with it are:

1) Contantly looses connections from a distance of about 10 ft. I have to cycle the power 2-3 times to get a working connection again. An older RF Logitech wireless keyboard works just fine.

2) With the device on it's dock, the computer will not sleep. Part of the allure (for me) for this device in use with a HTPC was to have a handy place the store the keyboard while not in use. Now I have to leave the keyboard lying around if I want the PC to be able to sleep.

3) I have no idea why you would take a nice and sleek black/silver design, and put a horrible bright orange all over the back side.

If the keyboard was 50$, I would have rated it 3-4 stars. At > 100$ I have a hard time giving it even the 2 stars I did.

Customer Review: Great keyboard, better HTPC keyboard.
Summary: 4 Stars

The Logitech diNovo Edge keyboard is indeed a great find. I have been looking for about 6-8 months now for a keyboard that is under $200, sleek, solid and includes a built-in mouse.
Pros:
Solid feel, quick response (I believe they talk about some rapid type technology of sorts in their product propaganda, er, details.). The keyboard is very thin, and a good weight - while on your lap it does not feel like a paper plate nor does it feel like a brick.
The range is good (bluetooth - ~30 ft).
Pairing could not be easier.
WORKS IN THE BIOS.
Works well under both linux (test with Ubuntu 8.04 64bit, 8.10 64bit and 9.04 32/64bit), and windows vista 64bit.
If one looses connection, a simple press of the connect button on the keyboard, and then on the usb bluetooth dongle will fix that.
Battery life is incredible (mine claims that I still have about 50 days left off of one charge.

Cons:
Charging base-station is a little awkward to get the keyboard on there just right (though, I'm sure that over a little bit of time it won't be as hard).
Mouse is not very responsive and a little harder to use than something like a macbook pro's touch pad.
The touchpad will allow you to scroll by running your fingers vertically on the right side - but it's not the greatest.

The diNovo definitely does it's job, and does it well. The keyboard includes little lights that will illuminate ABOVE the function keys (no, the keyboard is not backlit), and the volume line lights up to the left as you move your finger up or down. It's a very nice keyboard, but if you plan to use it at a PC that is for extended use, or graphics design, or gaming or anything mouse intensive, buy a separate mouse.
