Customer Review: Speakers for TV
Summary: 3 Stars

The speakers on our Westinghouse TV are rather limited, especially if any other kitchen machine is sounding. I thought these speakers would be ok for the TV but as it turned out, we had to buy adapters for them to work. My fault on not realizing the TV needed stereo speaker hook ups. They are now hooked up. The sound is a little tinny and echoey (a word?). However it works for my husband who is hard of hearing. This is not a place where we wanted symphonic sound. We just wanted to hear what the folks on the TV were saying without maxing out the volume. Sound only comes out of one of the speakers. The speaker with the volume controls has no sound. Perhaps they are not meant for this hookup. We did not hook them up to the computer for which they are designed. They are nice looking. They work for us. If you need speakers for your TV ask someone who has knowledge in that area.

Customer Review: Excellent 2.0 Speakers - Solid Sound - Solidly Built
Summary: 4 Stars

UPDATE: Once I moved the speakers straight back as far as possible towards the wall behind them - and thus the sound bounces of the wall behind me - there's an enormous improvement. The sound is full, rich and deep.

But they cannot, and are not, a replacement for 2.1 or higher speakers. The mid- and high ranges are excellent, but the bass really needs its separate outlet. The overall first impression is a rather flat sound but if you have a good sound card and/or a good sound application most of these shortcomings can be alleviated.

They're built like brick outhouses - the most solid computer peripherals I've seen in a long time. And, in a fit of absolute genius, no separate power brick but an actual, honest to goodness old-fashioned plug that goes straight into the wall. (Hallelujah!)

Customer Review: Good desktop speaker at its price range
Summary: 4 Stars

I have been looking around for some desktop speakers and not thinking about spending too much money on it. I looked at many models on-line and also in the stores and finally I decided to buy this set. I like the design that it comes without a bulky power converter. At the price of $29 when I purchased it, it produces sound loud enough for my PC and it looks solid without the usual cheap plastic feel. I didn't give it a five star because its sound tends to be blur at extremely higher volume and at very deep base setting. Since I use real stereo equipment for listening to music, I wouldn't turn on the volume very high on this speakers anyway. But...let me tell you, I use this set of speakers to play a old Warcraft III game and it really sounds very well, loud, deep and stereo. For a set of desptop speakers, this will be my best choice for under $30.

Customer Review: Consider the source
Summary: 4 Stars

For the money, $27 with free shipping, these speakers are very good.
I find that the audio source you run through them make all the difference.
I ran them through the headphone jack of my home theater amplifier, and controlling the main volume from the amp itself made for getting the sound out of the speakers very good.
If used on a low quality amplified source, such as a portable device, the sound won't be as pure.
I bought them to run the sound through a small HD radio. In that, they're only fair, but listenable in an environment (workplace) where loud volume isn't allowed anyway.

Long story short, the source has everything to do with the audio output from these $27 speakers. Well worth the money. Substantial feel to them, too. I've seen other plug-in portable speakers which weigh half as much and sound cheesy.

Customer Review: Decent but not replacement for 2.1 speaker
Summary: 3 Stars

I have this about a month. The first thing I notice from this speaker is that it's heavier than it look. It's heavier than it suppose to be from the price we pay. Thus, it really makes me feel like this speaker (Logitech X-140) is built with quality. However, the second thing i notice is that "when I turn on, it makes a loud high pitch sound". It loud enough making me blink my eyes even though I already know what to expect after a week of using it. The sounds is decent but not great. It lost some details in mid-tone and high.

I use it for my laptop because I don't want so many sound system in my room. The lines are long enough for desktops, too.

Originally, I was going to return it but I got lazy. The loud high pitch turn-on-sound is extremely annoy. My laziness makes me bear with it or just simplely leave it "on" forever.
