Customer Review: Great Value
Summary: 5 Stars

I read the reviews and had my doubts, it sounded like a good deal but read how some complained about the bass and how they crackled at loud volume. I researched many different speakers and these were some of the highest rated by users. Let me put your mind at ease, there is no way you can beat these for around $25. They are good solid built speakers. I listen to a lot of music off my computer including big band and vocals and these speakers more then support this with a nice surrounding sound. They also work well when turned up, now not sure if they would work for a drunken party where you have to have it cranked up to full or if it works well for thumping bass, but I do know that they do go way loud enough to be heard in another room with no loss and no cracking.

I admit they may not make the cut for a serious surround super high quality sound, but at the price and for personal use, I don't think you will be disappointed. If you are searching for concert hall booming sound then you shouldn't be looking at $25 speakers, you are dreaming, go ahead and spend more and get those expensive speaker systems. For the rest of us that want decent sound at a decent price, these are the speakers for you.

Customer Review: What A Joke
Summary: 1 Stars

Hi All.

After I read all of the reviews. I figured that these Logitech Speakers couldn't be to bad for the money. Boy, was I ever wrong. I'm not a seriouse nut case when it come to music. But I sure as heck can tell when something sounds good or not. Trust me, theses speakers sound awful. I have a Brand New HP 16 inch Laptop. Even my lousy built in speakers in my Laptop sound better than theses speakers. Theses speakers remind me of the tiny transister Radio's of the 60's. There not even worth the trouble to return them. I have owned other Logitech items in the past, and have enjoyed them very much. But, did Logitech ever drop the ball on theses speakers. I only gave it one star, or I wouldn't have been able to leave a review. What bothers me, is all of the 5 star and 4 star ratings that these speakers got. There sure must be an awful lot of people out there that don't hear correctly if they think these are great speakers. Don't waste your money on them. I have a pair of 15 year old Laptop Speakers that sound really good even after all of theses years. To bad the old 1.1 speakers don't work on a 2.0 Laptop. What a total waste of money. Good Luck

Customer Review: Our second set of these...
Summary: 5 Stars

I got a pair of these speakers for Christmas, they have served me well, so when we decided we need better speakers for the computer in the bedroom, we got more.

Previously we had some wimpy USB powered speakers, to watch Netflix from the bed we had to make sure the Netflix player volume, the computer volume, and the speaker volume were all cranked about to the max. The result was not pleasant.

But these provide plenty of volume even barely past the on/off click. That's another thing; Our old speakers had an on/off button, and to push it, I had to reach past all the breakable frua-frau junk my wife keeps on the computer desk with both hands, one to hold the speaker, the other to push the button. Otherwise it was very easy to push it off the back of the desk. These logitech X140 speakers have the power activated by turning the volume knob, and they are much heavier speakers.

The sound is nice and clear for watching movies, playing games, listening to music, or what have you. I'm no hi-fi nut but if you are you probably wouldn't be shopping for computer speakers to listen to music anyway.

Customer Review: Either I got faulty speakers or they are crap...

I really wanted to love these speakers. I liked the design and people seemed to rate them highly. However, 10 minutes after they arrived I'm already looking into how to return them.

My first test was on my Fujitsu Lifebook A6110 laptop. The grin soon faded from my face when I began playing music through these speakers. They sound extraordinarily flat and muffled. Unless I boost the treble in the equalizer, they sound worse than my laptop speakers.

Figuring it may be this laptop, I grabbed a Dell Insprion 1420 and began playing the same song, getting the same results. I did one final test using my MP3 player (actually a camera, but playing through the cable I used on the computer) with once again, consistent results.

Perhaps there's something wrong with these because I seriously can't imagine people giving such horrific sounding speakers 4 and 5 star ratings. These were purchased to replaced my 10 year old speakers that came with some Dell and there's no way they sound even close to those. And yes, they too are only 2.0 as well.

Customer Review: Decent for the price

I was really just looking for a pair of speakers to get my girlfriend so that she would be bored out of her mind while she was surfing the internet. She's no audiophile, so quality wasn't a big issue. These seemed to fit the bill. Once I got them, I wasn't disappointed. I wasn't ecstatic, mind you, but I wasn't disappointed. Good quality, good base response, and they seem sturdy enough.

The tweeter and woofer are connected, so when a decent amount of bass hits, you'll lose a little bit of the mid-high/high frequency response. Also, The volume knob is kind of stiff. You turn it on and at about 10 o'clock on the volume dial, it kind of gets stuck. It's stiff to the point where you've either got to leave it right at about the 10 o'clock position, or turn it all the way up to 12/1 o'clock. Other than those minor issues (I guess that depends on who you're asking) their good speakers. If you're serious about your computer audio, don't bother. But if you just want to be able to hear music and videos when you're surfing the web, go for it.
