Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech X-140 2.0 SpeakersCustomer Review: Hard to say something nice about these speakers Summary: 1 StarsI've always purchased Creative Labs speakers and have been very happy with them. I read lots of the reviews about the Logitech X-140 speakers and thought I would give them a shot. I had a coupon for them... and I wish I hadn't used it. While they look great, are heavy and would have been perfect for my 9 and 7 year old kids, the sound just stinks. Even though my kids wouldn't know the difference, I just can't stand the thought of walking past their rooms and wishing they would turn them down so I wouldn't have to listen to them. I know, I know, it sounds snobby, but I'm not kidding. I can see how folks who only play computer games or limited styles of music might think they sound great and have given them four or five stars, but if you put any kind of rap, dance, hip hop, current country or techno on these things they sound like poop being rubbed into your ear. The louder you turn them up the worse they sound. At low volume they were muddy and too hard to make out. At mid volumes they rattled, popped and hummed. I tried editing equalizer options, SRS and WOW effects (turning them off and on) and could never get them to sound right. Save your time and money and buy something else. I'm returning these tomorrow.
Customer Review: Great Sound for the price Summary: 5 StarsI just received these yesterday and I plugged them in to my PC last night. What A Difference! I tossed my old speakers and I'm enjoying these Logitech X-140 speakers as I'm writing this review. They sound crisp and clean and look great too! Very sturdy, not a cheap plastic speaker at all. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to replace the 'cheap' speakers that come with most PC's now. I guarantee you won't be disappointed with this purchase. They ROCK!
Customer Review: Good highs and features, but bass is muddy Summary: 3 StarsPros:
Look good
Headphone jack
Easy to setup
No big ac adapter
Good length cords
Good volume
Good highs
Cons:
Bass is very muddy. If you are at all use to a 2.1 system, this one is going to disappoint. It just can't great the rich clean lows that a 2.1 system can unfortunately. But I suppose this is what you can get for 27.00 and such small speakers. They do beat laptop speakers and most ipod speakers though. I personally though find the bass to be just too irritating to like these speakers too much. Maybe considering going back to 2.1 system.
Customer Review: Looks can be deceiving! Summary: 1 StarsPlease be aware...these speakers have an integrated power supply that is very susceptible to outside interference. I heard a constant buzz/hum from the left speaker (where the power supply is located) whenever the speakers were turned on.
However, by looking at some of these other reviews, it does seem that others had a positive experience with the X-140s. So who knows...maybe I just got a lemon.
Customer Review: Outstanding Buy!! Summary: 5 StarsFrankly I was expecting much lower quality and sound when I ordered these. However, I COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED!! GREAT price, great sound and features. The front and back of these speakers are high quality, well made. The sound is excellent, great base! The front of the main speaker has an on-off button which is very handy. Also there is a knob for sound intensity (base etc.). I use this in addition to my computer equalizer and the sound is just superb. You can connect external headphones and MP3\Ipod directly into the front of the main speaker. They look great and sound great! I would order these again in a New York minute and highly recommend them!
