Customer Review: Not a good product, not supported
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased this device thinking it was a current Logitech product. The device worked initially, although the software used for switching sounds between my PC speakers and my audio system never worked.
The unit quit working altogether after about two weeks. Going on Logitec's site, I found that no information concerning this device even even existed ( they now advertise a new product called "Music DJ).

There was no software update or even a mention that this product ever was sold by them.
I am currently working with their offshore call center for an RMA to send it back but I have little expectations of getting an RMA for this thing.

This is the second Logitec product that I have purchased that died after a short period ( the first was a wireless keyboard). I believe this company makes inexpensive products that marginally work, has poor website support, and frequently obsoletes product models to break the paper trail on products that don't work.

I will not buy from Logitec again.

Customer Review: Great till it quit working

Logitech's Wireless Music System was easy to set up (granted you've used your USB port on your computer before, and plugged inputs into the back of your receiver/stereo before).
Bought it for my parents, because my mom is always frustrated with the interference she gets with her favorite classical radio stations.
Their PC, running XP, had no hesitation accepting the little device, I just plugged it in and after a restart, it was broadcasting their computer's sounds. The receiver device was easy as well.
Took me a moment to coordinate the volume control on the computer with the volume control on the Logitech receiver and the volume control on their stereo -- so there wouldn't be a dramatic volume change switching from the Logitech input to others.
Mom was thrilled.
Then it just quit. The little USB device just didn't power up. No issue with the computer.
Drag.
Buy something that perhaps costs more but sold by a company with a better reliability track record than Logitech.

Customer Review: Logitech Wireless Music System
Summary: 4 Stars

A number of excellent reviews have been written regarding this product which seems to now be out of production. I will not repeat what has been written. I do wish to add a couple of points.

Having taken delivery of a unit last week, I have been using it to stream sound (Internet Radio, as well as mp3 files on the upstairs computer) (XP Pro) to the home theater receiver in the downstairs family room. Even with 2.4 GHZ cordless phone and wireless Internet throughout the house - it works fine.

The real surprise is that I have an old Sony with Windows ME. I plugged the transmitter in to one of it's USB ports, and it immediately streamed the music.

I have the software installed on the XP but not on the ME machine. It is quite simple to just pull the USB cord out of the Sony if I wish to have the sound coming from the computer's speakers.

It is disappointing that such a fine product has been discontinued, as there must still be a market for the concept.

Customer Review: does one job very well - make your laptop a sonos

This is a great solution - clean install w/plug in no wires usb transmitter keeps laptop portable. No need to install included software. True plug and play - up and running in minutes from opening box! The transmission really is clean & range is quite good.

Don't plan on surfing the web wirelessly though, this thing steps all over your wireless internet connection. You've got enough to stream audio off the net (I can run Rhapsody fine) but for general surfing the pages are noticeable slower.

What a bargain at this price!! I guarantee that when this product is gone (and it will be gone - this is a close out of a discontinued product) you will not be able to find anything else like it. Logitech has nothing else like it and everything else is WAY too expensive. I might even buy a couple spares in case something happens to the two (2) i've already purchased! In my opinion, go long on this product NOW.

Customer Review: Lack of support
Summary: 2 Stars

I thought this product would provide a way for my husband to listen to internet radio in another room while I am working on the PC. That's what Logitech says it will do. So far, it seems to be doing that without problems.

BUT! I had problems with installation. The software does not recognize my computer or my sound card, so I can't select either of them as "default" unless I go to control panel>sounds and audio devices>audio tab>sound playback> default device.

I WAS able to send Windows Media Player output to this device in the media player itself. (Go to library> more options> devices> speakers> properties> sound playback and choose this device.) Other applications (such as iTunes) do not have that option for use.

Sound confusing and difficult? Yep. Buyers beware... there is NO support from Logitech for this product. The only support I found was at the users forum:

Good luck.
