Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech V450 Cordless Laser MouseCustomer Review: Love it.... Summary: 4 Stars
I have my Microsoft mouse for a year before it started going ape on me. After a few months of my temperamental pet mouse which takes a lot of banging on the table before it decides to respond, lots of batteries wasted cause I thought maybe it ran out of battery since it doesn't have an off/on switch and I leave it on always because if I turn it off it well take its sweet time to wake from its stupor & respond to prodding or banging in this case (it has always done this since day one), my new Logitech pet mouse is a trained hamster. Has an off/on switch, response time is the same as my previous Microsoft mouse before it's gone bananas, and it responds instantaneously after switch on unlike Microsoft. It's powered by 2 AA batteries (duracell included) so expect it to be heavier than those just powered by one. How durable Logitech mouse is remains to be seen. I'm happy with it for now, can't complain. It's not a thing of beauty but it works without raising your blood pressure. I'm giving it a 4 star instead of 5 because I don't know how long this mouse will last before it decides it's an ape.
Customer Review: Very Functional, But Has A Few Issues Summary: 4 Stars
This mouse works weel enough, but has some problems that keep it from getting 5 stars.
First the good:
- Very accurate pointing
- The USB dongle is very small compared to competitors
- The dongle stows nicely away inside the mouse, and turns off the power when you do so.
- Many customizable features
- Great range. Works from across the room when I hook my laptop up to my 55" HDTV
- No delay in recognition of the mouse my by laptop. As soon as I open the lid, the mouse is working. I have had Bluetooths that had long delays before connecting.
The Bad:
- The scroll wheel is not sensitive enough. I have it turned the sensitivity up all the way, and it still takes like 10 turns to get to the bottom of a web page.
- The dongle fits in the mouse so tightly (at least in mine), that it takes significant effort to get it out.
- The mouse does not slide as smoothly over normal surfaces as other Logitech mice I have had. It kind of sticks a little too much.
Customer Review: Only Logitech for me Summary: 5 Stars
I was using a Logitech wireless mouse that came out before this one and have used it for about 4 years now and still love it. I moved that mouse to my ps3 and needed to get another one for my laptop. I had such good service out of the other mouse that I bought this Logitech wireless mouse and am even more happy with it then I was with the first one!! I have bought a few of these now for other computers that I have and for the computers the wife has and she loves this mouse too. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a mouse and even to people who are not currently looking for one just so that when they did decide to get one maybe they would go with this mouse. I have told a couple of friends about how much I like this mouse and they have bought one for their computer even though they already had one and they are very pleased with it. Matter-of-fact, they threw the mouse they were using away. This mouse is comfortable and reliable and works on every surface that I have tried it on. And it has a lower price then other comparable products.
Customer Review: Capable Little Wireless Mouse Summary: 4 Stars
I would give it five starts, but I rarely hand out full marks. In general this mouse has met expectations. It's small enough to lug around with the laptop, but big enough to remain comfortable after hours of use (and certainly beats those glide-pad things on laptops).
As a laser mouse tracking is spot on...one of the more accurate mice I've ever used. Battery life is good, I haven't had to change since I got it in early January. Hmmm, still early yet, I guess...I'll see if it holds out.
This mouse would get five stars if, like its bigger brother (G7 cordless laser...although the batteries on the G7 are a pain...) I could adjust sensitivity and if it had some extra programmable keys...maybe I should try the VX Revolution?
At work, I would find myself plugging in the USB transceiver to my desktop and using the V450 instead of the stock optical.
Anyway, this is a very good mouse, and unless you want the extra programmable stuff and sensitivity adjustment this'll do plenty fine.
Customer Review: Small and Efficient Travelling Companion Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this little unit about six months ago for use with my laptop while traveling. I got tired of screwing with the tangle-prone cord on the mini mouse I had been using.
The unit is small and weighted perfectly when the battery is in it. It's precise enough for what I want to do on the road: web surfing, e-mail and light gaming. Notice I said light gaming. Using this for something like battling in WoW would result in some pitiful showings. The precision of the laser just isn't there. But again, serious gaming isn't what this mouse is about. And yes, Linux users, it works just fine with your favorite distro.
The only knock-down on the mouse is the battery life. The ad says up to 1 year of use. Yeah, not so much. I get about 45 days straight use out of a battery, rechargeable or regular. This is noticeably shorter than the MouseMan Optical I have.
So if you are someone who travels with a computer, this is a fine choice for your mousing needs.
