Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech V200 Cordless Mouse - Black ( 931380-0403 )Customer Review: excellent cordless mouse for laptops Summary: 5 Stars
It is my first cordless mouse because I has been reluctant to get one due to worries about unstable connections and bad battery life of cordless mice. This one exceeded all my expectations.
The connection with the computer is great. It instantly connects when you plug in the receiver into the USB port, even if you are using it for the first time with a particular PC. I works with Macs too.
The battery life is great too. It powers from a pair of AA batteries, which I haven't changed since March (i.e. over 6 months), and this is my only mouse so I use it all the time.
The receiver fits well on the bottom of the mouse, switching it off and saving the battery life. I carry the mouse in my backpack among other stuff and don't remember the receiver has ever separated from the mouse.
As with many optical mice, this mouse doesn't like some surfaces. For example, my mouse act erroneously on a dark-grey marble-like colored desk, so I am using a mouse pad. However, it works great on fabric, sheets, uneven surfaces.
Highly recommended. I am using the second one, because the first one was given as a gift to a co-worker.
Customer Review: impregnable packaging Summary: 1 Stars
The product sits on my desk unopened. I have not used it. When attempting to penetrate what turned out to be impregnable packaging, the %^#@$Y^! scissor broke!!
So I haven't used the mouse. Question for Logitech: How much did you pay the guy who designed the packaging?
Tomorrow I shall venture forth to purchase a blow torch, or some sort of explosive device so that I can hopefully obtain access to my mouse.
Following up: it's 2 weeks later. I have purchased a new scissor. I am using the mouse. My life is returning to a state of equilibrium. The mouse works fine. Actually, much better than the microsoft mouse which I had previously. (The other mouse seemed to lose signal every once in a while, and ultimately stopped working.) So I am willing to acknowledge that this is a good mouse, as long as you are in a position to hire a contractor with a background in demolition who can assist you in opening the box.
Amazon won't let me change the number of stars, but if I could I would. However, I still think Logitech should reimburse me for a new scissor.

But this mouse is AMAZING. if your willing to now spend around $50 for a mouse this is definitely a good choice. I have never been able to get far away enough where I could still see my laptop and have the mouse not reach.
Its really comfortable under my hand. Its very light without batteries inside but with them inside its the perfect weight.
It works an nearly any surface. I use it on my legs, my stomach, on my leather couch, a wooden table. it works everywhere.
Battery life is AMAZING. My first pair of batteries lasted a little over a year. and i used it a lot.
The only tiny complaint i have is that you have to put the usb back into the mouse to turn it fully off. but i think the mouse does have a sleep mode because it takes half a second to respond after I havent been using it for a while. But with the incredible battery life it doesn't matter. my brother got the same model and he ever put his back cause it had it plugged into the back of his pc and it also lasted almost a year.
Customer Review: Works flawlessly, a little bit small for my hands Summary: 4 Stars
This mouse works very well. I just plugged it into my Windows XP laptop and it was working within 10 seconds. I've been using it for about 2 months now, and I am very happy with it. I find it accurate and precise enough for my uses (sending e-mail, browsing the web, word processing, and other general computer use), durable, and easy to carry. Also, I haven't had to change the battery yet.
My only complaint with the product is that it is a little bit small for everyday use. It isn't quite uncomfortably small for me, but if your hands are a bit larger than average, you may find it more uncomfortable than I do. I suppose the product is designed to be a notebook mouse, and therefore smaller than the standard size, so I can't exactly fault Logitech.
My recommendation: if you plan to mainly use this product at your desk, get a full size mouse. However, if you use it as a portable mouse as I do, I think you'll find it a pleasure to use.
Customer Review: Very Poor Design for Clipping Receiver onto Mouse Summary: 1 Stars
Pros: Very smooth and accurate mouse. Good, quality feel. As accurate as a corded mouse. Simple to use and install--just plug the little receiver into your computer's USB port and Windows XP immediately recognizes it--and your clicking away.
Cons: Very poor design for clipping the receiver to the mouse. The receiver clips onto the bottom of the mouse by means of a small plastic button. This action is what turns off the mouse's power to save the battery. The problem is that the plastic button is flimsy and doesn't inspire any confidence that it would stay on if jostled during travel. And if the receiver happens to pop off the mouse, the mouse's power turns on. Then when you need your mouse the next time, it's dead. Also, if the little receiver pops off it could be lost--then you've really got a problem. I wish I would have bought a mouse with a more secure way of stashing the receiver and a more secure way of turning it on and off.
