Customer Review: Surprisingly good sound; well-designed, too

I was skeptical about all the positive reviews that these speakers have received. But they've really surprised me. They provide very crisp notes in the mid and upper range. The bass won't shake the floorboards or anything, but it's a big step up from those built-in speakers on your laptop. All in all, these provide excellent sound, especially for their size.
The speakers are well designed and well made, too. The traveling case that comes with them is of surprisingly high quality. I'm very pleased with the overall value.
One downside: because these are USB speakers, some of the special sound settings (like SRS WOW) may not work in all programs; it seems to depend. Some programs seem to support the USB interface, but not all do. Still, I'll take the simplicity of USB over this minor drawback. It's really nice not to worry about a power adapter and plug. And USB 2.0 provides sufficient power to crank up the volume quite high.

I bought the Logitech V20 Notebook speakers to boost my widescreen laptop's movie playing capabilities.
So far, after two months, I can say the speakers have not disappointed. The bass, midrange and treble sound strong and clear, and the ease of the USB connection means the speakers in their case are light to carry around. I can carry the case in my laptop bag (albeit with a bulge).
Cons:
The control buttons on top of the speaker get getting used to, as they don't feel responsive when you push them, and you kind of just have to hear the difference.
The speakers are on the light side, which while great for carrying around, means that they can vibrate at loud volumes with bass.
Peak volume is limited by USB power, but you should already know that.
Conclusion:
The cons are really insignificant compared to the price, sound quality and convenience of these speakers. They are an excellent buy.

When it comes to purchasing a computer, many computer owners are now considering laptops over the desktops that are more bulky, and take too much space. Sadly, the only one disadvantage with the laptops, is that they absolutely don't produce the best quality sound. With Logitech, they definitely understand and know that the best sound quality has to speak for itself. Their V20 Notebook Speakers are very convient and easy to setup. They also don't require any alternative power from an A.C. adapter, unlike other computer speakers. The only disadvantage is that they cost a little bit more than the other computer speakers, but it is definitely worth it. Especially, if you buy bigger computer speakers that might cost less, they could easily tilt to the side, and break the computer. I definitely recommend Logitech and these great speakers. It really is a must buy for all laptop owners!

Customer Review: Tried two sets: both failed

I bought my first set of speakers at Amazon. They worked great for a day, but then suddenly stopped producing any sounds. I scanned the Internet and the Logitech support forums and found many users complaining about the same problem. Neither recommendation I tried helped, so I contacted Logitech, which sent me another set of speakers (it was really nice of them). Unfortunately, the second set did not work from the beginning: one of the speakers produced a lot of static (and the sound went on and off). I tried to interchange the speakers between two sets, but it did not help. I contacted Logitech support again and was asked to provide the pickup info for sending them back, but my ticket has been pending for weeks and I have not heard from them since. So I'm returning my speakers to Amazon. Judging by the number of good reviews, I guess this problem does not affect everyone, but it was too much of coincidence for me to get two sets of malfunctioning speakers. I was really excited to receive these speakers. I am a teacher and have the technology to run movies, etc. through my laptop, but needed more sound than the small laptop speaker provided. I really liked the Logitech V20 Notebook speakers. They were small, and the carrying case would make is very easy to travel between work and home. The price was absolutely fantastic.
I tried the speakers out at home, and was pleased with the sound. However, when I used them in my classroom, they just were not powerful enough. I was disappointed they did not give me the sound I needed in my classroom, as everything else about the speakers were top notch. I returned these speakers, and just received the Dell WL6000 120v speakers. Definitely not as portable as the Logitech, but much more powerful.
If you are looking for a compact set of speakers to use on the road in a hotel room or other small room, the Logitech speakers would be an excellent choice.
