Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech S120 2.0 Multimedia SpeakersCustomer Review: I tried these, high hopes, glorious reviews. BAH! Summary: 2 Stars
I have been using the speakers that came with the computer for probably 4 years. They were getting very crackly, and sounded like poop.
Unfortunately, these give plenty of crackle too. They sound OKAY when at low volumes. And, they can go really loud, way louder than you'd want from a two piece set. There is a catch though, being that they sound like poop. I'm no stickler for high performance, I just like my music sounding clean-ish. You don't have to listen to hear the noises, they are blatantly apparent. I'm doubting these are just my speakers, the great reviews (solely from here) must be at least a little exaggerated. I can't listen to music on these. even on nice, soft acoustical songs, they crackle and fuzz and fuss. Now I hafta spend more money to get speakers you actually want to use.
So these might be cheap fellas, but they get on nerves fast. Waaay too much fuzz, way too much crackle. PLEASE!! PLEASE, get a better set. I'm sure [...] bucks will be worth it.
Customer Review: Reasonably good for the purpose Summary: 5 Stars
I had this for about 6 months or so. I'm happy with these speakers. They are not hifi speakers but still better than the speakers came with the computer currently in use which are built in behind the monitor, so facing backward. I use headphones most of the time and they sound better than these speakers, but there are times headphone use are not desirable
I use these speakers when sounds quality is not important such as video watching which is nice I can control the volume without keep pushing the volume key, when I'm doing something else on the desk and the cord become distracting, when I get too sweaty to use headphones etc.
Build quality seems to be good, I haven't had any parts coming off except the front grill, they come off by design.
The best part of this purchase is that unlike the speakers come with the computers, I can use these speakers on the computer I buy in the future. If I don't like the speakers come with it, I'll have another option.
Customer Review: excellent choice for office or cubicle Summary: 5 Stars
You cant expect great sound to fill your living room at this price. But if your expectations are met by the price you pay. You get a great product.
I added these speakers for my office computer. As any office desktop, my pc comes with a tiny speaker somewhere inside that you can barely hear at top volume. I did not wanted to shell out a lot money for office speakers so I ordered these.
The first thing you must know is that this speakers have their own power supply, all you have to do is plug its ac power cord to your wall outlet. right there it is a plus. I bought some office speakers a long time ago, that came without their own power supply, I had to run at lunch to buy an off the shell ac power adaptor.
The volume is perfect for your office or cubicle. It fills it with loud sound. Music is ok, dont expect a lot of bass.
I think for this price you cant go wrong, if you know what to expect.
Customer Review: bargain speakers Summary: 5 Stars
I got these because I travel a lot and wanted to listen to audio books and music without headphones and with something different from the internal speakers in my laptop. These are great, since they do not need an external power source and they'll small enough to carry in a laptop bag. They're not that I would call high performance, but they certainly sound better than internal laptop speakers. Plus, the fact that they're so inexpensive is a great perk (at least to me) since I won't be worried if they die or get damaged during travel. So far, so good though.
Range is pretty good for a cheap speaker, but don't expect a lot of bass. These are better for spoken word than music. If you like audio books or need do listen to seminars, they are great. Not bad for music in a hotel room setting, which is how I often use them, but if I were at a desk all day, with something I didn't need to move, I'd invest in something a bit better.
Customer Review: Perfect for me. Summary: 5 Stars
Let me tell you what I do with my computer. I look at websites on the internet, watch youtube videos, and I write some documents. I don't really play games very much, I don't do any video editing, and I don't download any songs and listen to them.
Accordingly my speaker needs are not very demanding. I bought these for 11 dollars at walmart. They are ideal in that they play sound of sufficent quality for my computer use. And the low cost is ideal. If they last me a year I will be satisfied, and to date they have not given me any indication that they will be konking out on me.
If you have similar computer habits as I described above, and want a cheap speaker that has just the basics (volume control, and headphones, and space-age on/off capacity) this is what you want. They're also small enough that they don't make your desktop cluttered. Unlike the old pieces of nostalgic garbage I used to have from like 1996.
