I needed an inexpensive speaker with a tough cord (Cat) this one did the trick, and the cord is twice as thick as the usual 12v cord that comes with most speakers. I don't know anything about sound quality, but these speakers seem to give me what I wanted.Customer Review: Louder=Bad

These are good speakers for the money. It has a good quality sound to a point. Once you get louder the sound gets scratchy. This is nice for a laptop or a mp3 player. These are cheap but not good. After 5 months, it started giving unpleasant buzzing sound. And after that only one speaker worked, if I place the wire in a specific way. I think there is some problem with the speaker wire connector which make buzzing sound.Customer Review: Not the best sound quality

This is exactly what I was looking for! Since I live in a college dorm, these little speakers provide more than enough sound to enjoy music and movies with friends. I would highly recommend them for anyone who enjoys listening to music on a daily basis!
