Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech S120 2.0 Multimedia Speakers

Customer Review: ehhhhhhhhh...they're okay, for the price
Summary: 3 Stars

I thought I would try these little speakers out, as the ones I have had in the pas have taken up a little more room than I wanted, not to mention the price was very reasonable...now I know why.

These of course aint high quality products. The quality of sound is good for the size of the speakers, but it all depends on VOLUME. at normal levels, they sound fine, but if youre the kind of person who wants to get more oomph out of your speakers, the sound gets muffled and the bass on these things are pitiful. I mostly use speakers to inhance the volume of my head phones when listening to music or watching something on my laptop, but the sound is still only okay with them jacked in.

So if your looking for something simple for the home/office and only need to hear things on a standard level, then I would recommend these. Those looking for speakers for more entertainment purposes, I'd look into a different set, as I myself will probably be returning these and just shelve out a few more dollars for a decent set. Hope this review helps

Customer Review: Barely Better than Laptop Speakers
Summary: 1 Stars

These speakers have a very shallow sound. I would rate the sound quality barely better than my laptop speakers which would make me question why I would pay for something that gives me almost the same sound? I guess I thought I would be getting more quality since these are Logitech speakers.

Not only was I disappointed with the sound, the construction of these speakers are extremely cheap. The cover of one of the speakers has fallen off within 3 months of purchase and the volume knob pulls off very easy. I was turning the speakers off and it just popped off! The vertical construction and light-weight also is a design flaw because the speakers fall over very easily. Turning the volume up or down can be a challenge unless done very precisely. I usually had to grab the speaker with my left hand as I adjusted the dial with my right.

Conclusion - If you're on a budget but want better quality sound than your laptop speakers, look to invest into models a little bit higher than this one because these speakers aren't worth the money.

Customer Review: A PAIN!
Summary: 1 Stars

Well, maybe some folks are giving these speakers good reviews, but let me state I use a mediocore emachines system. The computer works fine for me and gets the job done.

These speakers fall asleep within minutes. Its a PAIN, and I mean PAIN to get them working again.

You GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. PERIOD!

For what I paid for the speakers ( yeah, their cheap! ) I had already thrown away the box and reciept. So, thank goodness they ARE cheap.

Take it from me, dont invest in these speakers unless you are VERY low on cash. They are JUNK. Sound quality is "decent" when your looking at the price ( and if your television is on at just a normal level, and these speakers are at their max, good luck hearing them ) ..expect that. But the "falling asleep" every 10 minutes is a MAJOR pain!

Yeah, their cheap, and you will get CHEAP. Trust me!
I will GIVE these speakers to the first of my friends who needs a set of speakers..though I will warn them in advance to save a butt kicking later!

Customer Review: Just listen
Summary: 5 Stars

Once in a while a company will manufacture a truly excellent product, then sell it at a bargain basement price. That marketing strategy captures the favorable attention of the mass of consumers, and is thus profitable in the long run. Logitech displays that fine strategy with its S120 speakers, which are inexpensive but first-rate.
As a fan of classical music, which has the widest range of dynamics and frequency, I can recognize good speakers when I hear them; and the S120's are among the best. They catch every aspect of the music beautifully. Far from being "tinny," as a few tone-deaf reviewers have suggested, the S120's have a rather mellow tone, with just an underlying hint of crispness. They can do justice to any music that I'm familiar with, no matter what the instruments or combo.
Finally, these miniature speakers even look appealing: they've a nice, subtle line about them, which looks good beside a laptop. In brief, the S120's constitute a rarity among accessories: they're actually a wise purchase.

Customer Review: POOOOOOOR SOUND QUALITY!!!
Summary: 1 Stars

Wow, any of these reviews that say these speakers have good sound quality are WAY off! I bought these to replace my Dell A215 speakers, which have a short in the volume knob, because they were well reviewed and a good price. After receiving them, I immediately installed them, and right away I could tell that these were very inferior speakers. They have little, if any, base response and sound completley tinny. They also crackle at higher, but nowhere near max volume. Also, many reviews have mentioned the nice design of these speakers. I disagree with this assesment also. They look rather cheap, and the rubber feet do little to keep them in place, and they tend to tip over very easily.I am returning these and paying nearly double for another set of A215, which have excellent sound, and just hope the knob problem was a fluke. If you listen to music, as I do on my computer,or you use them for gaming or any activity necessitating good sound, YOU DO NOT WANT TO BY THESE CHEAP, UNDERPERFORMING SPEAKERS!
