Customer Review: Very good for $10.00 speakers

As others have said, they are a bit tinny, however, for my relatively simple needs, they're fine. I got them to replace an old pair of speakers for my desktop. They're even adequate for music for non-serious listeners, but the bass, as has been said, almost disappears.
I also wanted something relatively small, due to limited desktop space, and these certainly are---the other speakers certainly weren't huge, but these really do give me some extra space.
Lastly, as has also been said, the instructions talk about two cables, a green and a pink, which is usually for input with a microphone. However, there's only the green cable, which is fine. Plug it into the input jack, plug the normal size power cord into an outlet, and you're good to go. (The fact that it's a standard 2 prong plug, rather than a large brick like my old speakers, was a further bonus.)
4 rather than 5 because of the tinniness, but for low cost, adequate computer speakers for those who aren't really hard core audiophiles, they can't be beat. (Also, they are somewhat nicer looking than the illustration, which has also been said.)

The first pair I got from amazon had unbalanced sound output from the right speaker, so I returned and got another one. Overall the sound quality is excellent for the price I paid. It has just the right balance of Bass that I want in a cheap pair of speakers.
The construction quality could use a little more work though. When you transport the speakers, the front grills pop off easily. The good thing is that they can be easily reattached. It just gets annoying and you really don't want to lose the front grills.
The other problem I have is that the speaker wires and power plug cannot be detached. Therefore this poses an annoyance when you are trying to install these speakers in tight spaces. Also, it makes it a pain to remove the speakers if you have tangled wires. My old pair of speakers had detachable cables and power plug, so it was easy to move the speakers around and deal with tangled cables.
Since it does not have detachable plugs, there are no additional input jacks. I use my LCD monitor for both PC and PS3, so I have to constantly switch cables when I play my PS3.

I'm not one of those audiophiles who wants 1024-bit encoding on mp3s, but I found the sound from these speakers to be very tinny. I don't listen to particularly bass-heavy music, but even with something as mild as a barbershop quartet I found them lacking. That said, they seem like a perfectly reasonable value for only $10. I wouldn't want to watch a movie with them, but for general use they seem okay if you don't mind the treble sound.
Also, they're about 25% smaller than I expected. As of this writing, there are no photos of them that give you a sense of scale, and I assumed they were approximately as big as the Harman/Kardon HK206 speakers I'm replacing. Instead, they're just a little bigger than a 12 oz. soda can. Given that, their sound isn't surprising (and I probably wouldn't have ordered them if I'd realized).
So I'm returning these speakers ASAP and upgrading to the more-expensive but very highly rated JBL Duet Speaker System for Portable Music and PC - Aluminum (Pair).
Customer Review: Lame and here is why I think its a lame product.

These speakers are really for someone who just needs some extra volume for their laptop. I purchased these hoping I could not only get that extra sound but enjoy my music clearly. They don't really do what I needed them to do and the quality was really lacking. They are alright if you aren't looking for not much more than getting some extra value out of your laptop.
I had some issues with just the usb. I admit, I Didn't do my research and didn't check to see if it had a headjack that i could plug into the laptop, or ipod, or whatever media player that uses a 3.5mm jack. Not very versatile.
I had to disable the sound card so that this thing would play through the speakers, I think this is the biggest negative of this product. Maybe others didn't have this issue but I sure as hell did. If i plug in some headphones I have to re-enable the sound card and disconnect the speakers. Could be my laptop, but still, not very intuitive for my taste.
The only positives i could think of for these speakers is that they look decent and don't take up too much space.

Having worked in an IT environment for more than a decade, I've seen several different kinds of speakers come and go with the various computer setups (mainly Dell); most the speakers we get are functional, but not much beyond that. I was stunned when I installed a computer setup that included these little babies!
These speakers are, to my ears, amazing. For such small units, they put out impressive sound. Granted, they are not as bass-y as the Sony boom-box I have in my office, but they definitely sound better than the average PC speakers. I am surprised at how much of a bass presence they actually have. I bought a set and put them in my bathroom with a Panasonic portable CD player (set to about 75% of its max volume) for music listening (as opposed to using my CD clock radio); they don't take up a ton of counter space, and they provide great, full sound in the space. No AC adapters to mess with, either...just plug them in!
My opinion: at this price point, what do you have to lose? I think most folks will be pleasantly surprised.
