This is a decent camera. The picture is good and the sound quality seems to be fine. The construction is quite good also. My only problem with it is the right light feature. When I use it the camera and software seem to run slow. The follow face feature works great, as long as you don't use the right light feature. The software is easy to use and has a lot of good features. It allows you to control the camera manually or put it on auto. It has a feature to use disguises and funny faces also. So it is fun to play around with. I don't think at this time that it works well enough for me to give it a five star rating though.Customer Review: Lives up to the hype.

This has been a great product for me. The friend I video chat with says that it looks like she's watching me on cable... very clear and very smooth. We use Skype, which has built-in High Quality technology that works with this webcam. Before that kicks in it's good... once it kicks in it's incredible. So great that I'm buying her the same camera... why should she get all of the High Quality video?
I don't use the built-in microphone... it's too far away from me during use to be any good.
The software that comes with it is pretty fun... for about a day.
Definitely lives up to the hype.

If you have a built in camera you are lucky. But given that I didn't have one this works well enough.
Limitations: You really cannot mount it on top of the computer so leaving it on the stand does pose challenges. If you accept this and are aware of it this is a good purchase. (I am sure that some gennious found a way to mount it but I sure couldn't nor could other reviewers - so just be aware).
Positives: You can move it around so based upon what you are taking a photo of, like if there is more than one person, you can have fun with it. In my case taking a photo of the cat was easier.

Logitech QuickCam Orbit AF Auto Focus System (Black) As received the optics worked great, but the software caused major system problems in VISTA. Logitech support provided a fix for the VISTA problem, but that still left the automatic brightness control, and face tracking not working. Just received a software update from Logitek. Now the automatic brightness control works. It appears that Logitek is making progress on the software. Outside of these software problems the QuickCam seems to be working very well.Customer Review: Good picture, good sound

The hardware and software installed flawlessly and it has been used with Skype and Windows Live Messenger.
I am happy with the video and audio quality. The auto exposure works well in dim light. The face following feature prefers to follow bright lights if your face is in shadow so I had to turn if off. Bad lighting also fooled the auto focus once; so for best results make sure you face is lit. The stalk raises the camera for showing more than the underside of your chin. The mic does not cause feedback and ringing when used with speakers so you don't need to use headphones.
