have been watching an online Owl Box web cam that used this product and it demonstrated superior quality with continued 24/7 operation over a 4 month period. The sound and picture clarity continuously provided the "experience of being there" to 100s of thousands viewers from around the world feel!! The owner of the owl box kept saying that this camera and microphone weren't designed for such use, and was preparing the viewers for an inevitable loss of sound, which NEVER happened! Unfortunately once the owlets fledged the Owl Box, the owner took the system off line....But the camera and microphone were still fully functional and performing superior when this took place!!Customer Review: Superior to Microsoft Lifecam HD and Logitech C910

Basically, for picture quality and functionality, this camera is superior to the Microsoft Lifecam HD 720 and the Logitech C910. I hooked all 3 up at the same time and compared video next to each other. You can optimize contrast, saturation, zoom, etc. for this camera - the Microsoft Lifecam didn't give that option.
The lifecam is the less obtrusive of the three. The C910 seems the strongest built, but had the poorest picture quality.
Also, love the features with this cam - it follows your face, can be set up to record when detecting motion, you can flip the image and hang it upside-down in a room; basically the best option out there to date.

The cameras best features were a huge letdown:
"Rightlight": results in blurred images. People or objects look like blurred steaks when they pass by the camera in dark or even slightly dim situations.
Motion tracking: Only works in chat mode (I would have liked in in motion detect mode). Even in chat mode it loses your face very easily leaving you to adjust the camera back into place and restart the whole tracking feature.
Autofocus: I had the camera pointing out the window the camera can easy be confused into autofocusing close on the glass of the window instead of far into the distance.

main complaint has to do with the face tracking. does not follow even in a brightly lit room let alone at a desk with just a lamp. at times the cam would look off at the wall or ceiling and get lost. the cam seriously only would follow at most 10% of the time. the main perk of this cam is the motorized pan/tilt which is trash therefore the camera is trash. the motion detection is nice, but other cams come with this. video and audio is standard. the video calling program which comes with the install, logitech vid hd, is just bloatware. the face tracking is now disabled, which to me, puts this cam on the same level as the cheaper cams on the market.Customer Review: We love it!

We live overseas and it's very hard on us and our family back home because we only get to visit once a year. I bought this Quick Cam to use with the online web site that we had just joined for video calling via the computer with friends and family. It's a great product. The picture and sound are very clear. It was very easy to set up and begin using. My 8 year old thinks it's great and loves using it. It's nice because it follows you when you move so when we are communicating with someone via the web they don't lose sight of you. I would definitely recommend this product, especially to those in the same situation as we are.
