1. The Quick cam has a built in microphone.
2. The software uses the computer microphone as a default. So you will need to change the settings for the microphone to use the quick cam microphone
3. The face recognition software can detect the eyes and mouth regions. This is not advanced visual recognition; the software does not recognize mouth formations of sounds; instead the software detects movement of the mouth, face direction, an eyebrow movement; images in real time can be superimposed on the indivdual or a complete avatar representation substitutes.
4. The time lapse and motion sensing capabilities were excellent. The image quality was good.
5. The web cam does not have a wireless feature.
6. The web cam does not come with single frame to animation software.

This web cam retails for $79.95. With all the hype on the box, and at the Logitech website, I expected sharper images. Very disappointed so far. This is not the cheapest cam they make, either. Tried various settings, light adjustments on & off, etc.. My old Intel webCam worked much better, but they are not made any more, and drivers for Vista are not available. Maybe I'll get used to it. Followup: Sometimes the webcam doesn't start up after the computer has been turned on in the morning. I find that by aiming a flashlite into the lens, it starts right up. It's very sensitive to low light, in fact gives a better picture with it. I set it for 3 MP and seem to get a better picture. The Logitech QuickCam Communicate Deluxe Webcam was pretty easy to figure out and install. The software loaded fast and easy and the webcam sits on my flatscreen monitor securely. The camera picture quality and sound are great and I use it with Skype to talk with people overseas. I am not sure if it is a problem with Skype or the software, but I cannot make video calls to people if I want to use the camera. For some reason the camera doesn't turn on and work. I have to call the person on Skype not making a video call and then later turning on the video. There doesn't seem to be any settings that I make the Skype software and the camera work together so I can click on video call and the camera will work. Otherwise the camera works great.Customer Review: Excellent webcam

Not much else to say. Great webcam, excellent resolution, great microphone, very adaptable to any type of monitor or surface, and great sound management. If I had to say anything for an improvement, I would add more options for when you are traveling in other countries. I visited Brazil and I had some issues with the video transmissions. I got into the settings and the Anti-Flicker feature only had options for North America 60HZ, Europe 50 Hz, and Off. What???? What about the rest of the world??? I Love my Logitech QuickCam Communicate Delux Webcam. The quick delivery was fantastic-all I needed to do is plug it in and load the software and was ready to use it in a flash. Once you see it with your own eyes you will realize it as I did that it's just like being there in person with the other party. I enjoy using my video web cam along with SKYPE.
