The easiest recommendation to anyone considering this End-of-Life USB speakerphone is this: Read the Reviews. In short: this is a good product that not everyone will be happy buying.
Depending on your operating system the user experience may not be 100% smooth. For under twenty dollars delivered though, the Quick Call is a wonderful value. Below, I'll sum up what I found in the reviews and, below that, what I've experienced in hopes that it will be helpful to you.
Found:
* In the reviews, you'll see the suggestion that this device isn't fully compatible with Win7. It doesn't appear to be. As you'll read on though, the device does work with Win7 and can be used for its purpose: as a USB speakerphone. Don't let the incompatibility fact confuse or dissuade you. The buttons may not function as originally intended, and the drivers/software on the included CD probably won't work unless you're running WinXP or Vista, but the device itself can be made to operate just fine, without too much hassle, within Win7. There are excellent posts on a few blogs, as well as forums and the Logitech website which can help troubleshooters get the most out of the little thing.
* The speakerphone is solidly constructed and does take up space on a desk. To be safe, allot a standard piece of paper's amount of space (8.5x11 in).
* Support and documentation from Logitech are limited, but enough to get most users up and running. Those uncomfortable trouble-shooting via message board and search engine should probably avoid this product.
Experienced:
* The call quality, in my opinion, lives up to the claims. Callers could tell that I was using a speakerphone, but did not report distortion, echoing, or breaks in the conversation. Setting up the phone took less than 30 minutes from box to first call (including searching out the Win7x64 drivers via Google, configuring those, installing Logitech's Call Center software in order to have a little more control over the device, and placing some test 'calls' to see how my system would respond to the new USB device).
* The Quick Call can be made to work nicely with Google Voice.
* The Call Center software available on the Logitech website can still be used in Win7. Installation as an Administrator cleared this hurdle for me. Do note that it's not necessary to use Call Center, but doing so does add a couple of features that may be convenient, like a wizard for tuning the audio.
