Customer Review: Painful to wear, not worth the $$
Summary: 2 Stars

I've had a good history with Logitech until recently. My Keyboard/Mouse have been working great for years, but recently I've had a joystick break in a matter of months and my most recent purchase (this headset) has been a let down.

I purchased this headset for online gaming and using a voice client. When I first put this headset on my head I knew something was off, it literally felt like 2 hands pushing in on my head, not hard, but enough to flatten my ears. The cushion for your ears is not very giving, might aswell be plastic. After the first hour I started feeling the pain, but decided to try and stick it out. I figured I may need to just break them in and get used to them. After a couple nights back to back with about 2 hours or so a night, my ears felt damaged.

Sadly, I'm back to using an old junky headset I had planned to replace by purchasing these. The sound quality is fine, but who cares when it hurts to hear it. I'll give it 2 stars because it could be worse by having bad sound and recording quality on top of the lack of comfort. The volume control is nicely done. With softer ear cushions this headset would be great.

Customer Review: USB Audio ALERT!
Summary: 2 Stars

Warning to those who do not know:

If you do not have a sound card that supports USB sound connectivity, do NOT purchase any microphones or headsets that run on USB! These will not work unless you plan on purchasing and installing an all-new sound card in your computer that will support playing & recording audio via USB port.

For those with older computers, it is a simple task to look at your sound card port (where you plug in your speakers/microphone - usually in the back of your PC)... If you see the green, red, and black standard audio ports, but NO USB on the same metal plate, then you should not get a USB driven audio device unless you are ready to upgrade your sound card in order to fully support these devices.

There may be updates to the software or drivers on your sound card manufacturer's website, so check there as well before you decide not to get a USB sound device. However, 99% of the time, these USB speakers, microphones, headsets, etc. will not work without the proper physical USB plug on the sound card itself.

Just a little FYI for those about to buy without checking.

Customer Review: Very nice so far, except for the location of the volume control
Summary: 4 Stars

I just got my headphones a couple days ago, so I can't speak to the durability issue, but in most ways I am quite pleased with them. They are quite comfortable on both my head and my ears. They do not muffle external sound. The sound quality is excellent, both for speaking and listening. They installed seamlessly -- there was no installation process at all, other than just plugging in the USB connector.

The only drawback I see is the location of the volume control. The cord between headset and volume control is not long enough to reach from my head to my waist, and I am not particularly tall. If you are taller than about five foot four, you won't be able to clip the volume control to your belt, waistband, or pants pocket. It's also too short to reach the cuff of my shirt if I'm wearing long sleeves. It would reach nicely to a breast pocket, if my shirt had them. As it is, the only option is to put it on my collar, which means I can't see it.

Making that cord about 10 inches longer would make this headset much easier to use. I'm not sure if this is going to be a minor irritation or major inconvenience in the long run.

Customer Review: Good Idea, Terrible result
Summary: 1 Stars

Look the concept of this product is perfect. I bought it brand new plugged it in and it worked perfect. I play several online games with my headset so that I dont distract others and wake up my child. Im a huge Logitech fan, I own their wireless laser mouse, previous headset, keyboard, and gamepad. I thought this would be a great investment. Boy was I wrong. To the people saying this headset is comfortable my head must be an odd shape because it feels like knives stabbing my head and ears after 10min on. I couldnt believe this actually made it out of research and development. I tried it for several days in a row hoping I hadnt wasted my money. I even stretched it out by placing it around my PC so it wouldnt press as hard like another commented. I tried to make this product work but it wouldnt.

PROS------Worked well

CONS------Couldnt stand to wear it for more than 10min.

CONCLUSION------Buy the Logitech Internet Chat Headset that goes around the back of your head for about $15. Its what I had previously and what I bought again and you will be much happier and not trying to sell it back on here.

Customer Review: Bad craftsmanship
Summary: 2 Stars

I will echo what seems to be a common problem with this headset:

1) Extremely uncomfortable (but you can grow accustomed to it over time)
2) Poor and/or failing sound quality

The poor fit is just bad design, but most people can probably live with it. What concerns me the most is how badly the sound deteriorates. It is clearly a poor wiring job or maybe they use cheap wires, but the sound is not getting through completely. The left channel was the first to drop (completely at the time of this review), and now the right channel is dimming as well.

The mic seems to be in working order (although I have not tested it recently).

I've owned these for about half a year, and had a good experience with them until the sound started deteriorating about a month ago. Even taking precautions to take care of them, the sound is now completely shot. It is disappointing that a ~$90 headset would fail within six months. I've had much cheaper headsets last years.

Just a note, the problem seems to stem from poor wiring (or wires?), between the controller and the headset.
