Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Premium USB Headset 350 ( 980374-0403 )Customer Review: Audio is good, but physical construction isn't. Summary: 3 Stars
Audio Playback:
Quality seems comparable to a high quality pair of headphones.
Sound Recording:
The background-noise-canceling microphone is high quality and brings in nice clean audio. However, the headset itself (the plastic frame, mic arm, etc) will produce sounds that show up in your mic-ed audio. The headphones are both mounted in sockets that have just enough play that movements of the head or attached cord will show up in your audio recording. I had to stuff the joints with a tissue to prevent clicking noises and bumps from interfering with my sound recording.
Comfort:
As others have mentioned if you have an average->large head prepare for some discomfort, there will be fairly constant pressure on your head.
Mute Button & Volume Control:
The mute button is a little too easy to activate, I have inadvertently muted the microphone on many occasions. Volume control works fine but is a little slow to respond. Frankly an on/off switch and a volume wheel would have been better than the directional button interface.
Conclusion:
I purchased this headset for the purposes of recording screen-casts. I wouldn't recommend this headset to someone else for that purpose, especially not for $90.
Customer Review: Headset For Work Summary: 3 Stars
I use this headset strictly for my job at work. (I am a Telemarketer and we have to purchase our own headset.) This is the second Logitech USB 350 headset I had to purchase. The first one only lasted for four months. I am "uber-careful" with it ~ but, the wires (hanging downwards from the mute button) can only take so much shifting and twisting. I really don't move a lot in my job ~ but ~ as I stated, the wires are delicate. Hopefully, if this one doesn't last ~ the one-year guarantee will work (couldn't use the guarantee with the first headset ~ employer obtained it and I had no receipt. I paid for the darn thing, though). The sound and voice quality of the head-set works better than any other I have ever used. And, I've been in the biz for twenty years.
I have to shout from the roof-tops about the service I received from Amazon. I ordered it on Jan. One ~ It was at my doorstep three days later!!!!! It was also the best price available anywhere. And I looked and called and went places for three weeks prior to purchasing from Amazon. I had even ordered the same thing from Target (for $22 more). I sent it back. Target has extremely bad delivery service (three weeks) and they will not refund about ten bucks of my money. Don't go Therrre!!!
Customer Review: Comfortable, Easy to use, Great sound Summary: 5 Stars
Ok, I have noticed that most of the bad reviews of this headset come from two reasons. I almost did not purchase them due to the reviews. I am SO GLAD I ignored the complaints and bought this headset. I use this headset for online gaming, watching movies, and Skype video phone conversations.
The first complaint seems to be about the volume and mute control. IT IS NOT the same button. The ring around the button controls the volume. The large button in the center controls the mute. If you cannot adjust the volume or mute with this, you probably cannot operate most remote controls or cell phones. I have had zero problems with the controls on the headset.
The second complaint is the tightness of the headset. I wear a 7 1/4 size hat and I have the headset at almost the tightest setting. I have not experienced the pinching that others have complained about. After I wore this headset for six hours straight, I did notice a slight pressure on my right ear. I don't think that is anything to complain about. I did not experience any ear sweating or ringing like I have with other headsets.
Overall, I am completely satisfied with this product. The sound quality for the speakers and microphone are outstanding.
Customer Review: Excellent Product! Summary: 4 Stars
Picked up these headphones to replace old crappy microphone that I had. Initially I was concerned because I wasn't sure if they would fit or not but after a few uses, they became very comfortable. The ear pads are a little low on the cusiony end and comfort end but eventually when they warm up and your head gets used to them, they fit a bit more comfortably. One thing I found that seems to work good is after about 10 minutes with them on, just take them off for a second or two to give your ears a chance to breathe a bit and then the slip right back on with no problems at all and the comfort returns.
Sound quality is excellent in my opinion. Listening to I-tunes has been great and Windows media player today has been good.
Microphone works fine too and blocks alot of background noise out too so I was surprised at the quality of that. I was able to record audio while the TV was on in the background. I was also able to raise the headset volume up enough to hear my speech and yet not blow out my ears so overall I'm very happy with the purchase. They seem to be coming down in price a little too as I picked mine up for about $15 more than they are advertised now so there may be a newer product version out soon.
Customer Review: Good quality for the price, uncomfortable Summary: 4 Stars
I wasn't looking to spend much on a headset (for use with Ventrilo, for WoW) and I trust Logitech products so I got these. Considering the price (I paid $25 *more* at a retail store for the convenience of getting them immediately) the audio quality for music is quite decent. Could be better.
Mic audio quality is quite good and does a good job of only picking up your voice. Definitely sensitive enough for my needs.
I wish they were more comfortable. The padding is kind of stiff. They feel a tad tight on my head. I think with extended use I may get used to them though. My old Sennheiser HD-470 headphones aren't comfortable for me either, very few headphones are.
As a USB headset they work perfectly fine with Mac OS X, but be careful what USB port you use. The first time I plugged them in they completely locked up my Mac, including all my USB devices. I used an empty port on my keyboard and that works well. The volume control changes the OS system volume.
Update 1 week later: I had to return these to the store as they became IMMENSELY uncomfortable after extended use. If you are someone who has problems with discomfort in headphones/headsets, look elsewhere.
