Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Premium Stereo Headset with Noise-Canceling MicrophoneCustomer Review: Not the best, but not the worst. Summary: 3 Stars
I bought these headsets in November of last year. They are very durable easy to use and look great with the rest of my pc setup I was very happy with them. :)
However....
The main thing I noticed off the bat, was the sound quality. It just didn't seem to get loud enough because it doesn't have its own volume control. You basically have to kinda rely on the settings of your pc. I tweaked everything but couldn't get it to a volume that was satisfying.
Secondly, these things are really uncomfortable after about 45 mins of usages, I constantly found myself rubbing my ears and having to take them off in the middle of listening or gaming. That's because the covers to the earpiece are really hard. They look like leather, but feel like plastic when covering your ears. But there are worst fitting headphones out there.
I noticed my mic on the headset starting to go out as well.
Don't get me wrong, they are great headsets, just not built for constant usage. Logitech is one of the best brands out there, but no ones perfect.
Customer Review: Less than one star rating Summary: 1 Stars
The Logitech Premium Stereo Headset with mic looks good - from the photo, but it has three fundamental problems.
a. The ear pieces are circular and too small for average ears.
b. The cushions of the ear-piece frames should wrap around the ears. But not with these! With the inability to swivel the ear pieces they press very strongly on the top and back of the ears. This restricts blood circulation to the ears, causing them to become hot with discomfort. Thus it becomes painful to wear them for any length of time.
c. The volume control, which is a pinhead-size pimple on the swivel dial, is ridiculously small, making it often impossible to move. In order to facilitate volume control I have to use my fingernail on the side of the pimple to move the dial.
My conclusion is that the item is very badly designed. I will therefore dispose of it and replace it with a more expensive stereo headset that has large ear cushions and a proper volume control.
I would not recommend this item to anyone.
Customer Review: ok Summary: 4 Stars
Not as comfortable as the Sennheiser PX100s that I got. But, there are a few great things about this head set. The cord is very long! which is essential to reach the connections on the back of the computer. There is an onboard volume adjustment, and an on-off switch for the mic, which I think are nice to have.
Now, back to the issue of comfort. When worn directly on the ears, I have found these to be very uncomfortable, like others. The band is too small for my head, and presses the cups onto my ears, which quickly causes discomfort. TIP: I found that wearing the phones lower helped. I have the tops of me ears sticking out, and the phones press onto the center (and below) of my ear, rather than the rim.
EDIT: Ok, here is another solution for the comfort problem: tear off all the standard issue padding (the fake leather junk and foam), grab a few cotton balls, and stick them in there instead. Careful, there maybe no returning, but I don't care. The cotton is allot more comfortable.
Customer Review: Loud, good sound Summary: 5 Stars
I love this headset, the sound is really loud which is important for a laptop that doesn't put out much power.
The sound is good, the response is pretty flat. The elements are big giving lots of base (I don't know why one reviewer said the opposite).
It has a mike mute switch, which is good and a volume control that is a knob (which is better than a slider because you don't have to figure out which end is up to use it).
I haven't recorded with it to test but I've been told the mike sounds good.
Note some people are confused, it's a "noise cancelling mike" not "noise canceling headphones". That means that the MIKE is only sensitive to sounds that come from the direction of your mouth. It does not mean that the ear pieces are more quiet.
But it's the sealed ear piece tight on the head kind of headphones, which gives you some isolation and more thump... But some people might not like the pressure on their ears.
Customer Review: It could be WAY better Summary: 2 Stars
Bought these at the store and it ended up replacing my old microsoft headset. I liked it at first even though it did not fit my head very comfortably. The sound quality is great and I did not have any problems with the mic.
The best thing about it is that the cable is ridiculously long, like about 2 meters. That is perfect for hooking it up to the TV while playing xbox and not disturbing anyone.
Over time the sound quality declines and only one of the sides work unless you fiddle around with the plug or volume wheel. These fall off your head pretty easily so it is not really good for listening to music while your walking or moving around too much. It also gives me a headache on top of my head where the middle of the band is and I have to shift it around ocassionally.
These overall are not that great, I don't like them or hate them, but it does the job. Putting them on for over 15 minutes or so and you'll feel like you want to puke.
