Customer Review: Good for 6 months... Than out of no where...
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this item to play with Battlefield 2. It was great, it fit well, it felt good (when I wore contacts, when I had glasses on, it was ok) the sound was great, I love the stereo effect. They really made you feel like you were there (well more than my speakers did). I like the microphones on/off switch, which became useful. I though did have a problem of the mic being weak and me having to use a booster from Windows to help it sound better to other people. It did not pick up much static at all, but did pick up some background sound. I don't know if that is a computer problem though. Anyhow, I would give this a 4.5 if I could.

Then... after six months, and the usage was not constant, I actually hadn't used them too much around then, I plugged them in to listen to music, and I was amazed. Something happened to the speakers. I listened to music; all that came out was the bass, no voices. I went into Battlefield 1942, and I could only hear some plane sounds, no bullets, but I could hear explosions. All high pitched noises were cancelled out, then I unplugged, my speakers were fine, so I tried it in another port, still, it was off, so I tried a different set (simple iPod like earphones), they worked perfect! So as I have come to find, these are, I guess worth the price, it's like paying a few dollars a month for these, and then they die after a few months when you need them.

I would give these 3 stars, but I paid 20 dollars for them, not like the 13 they are on sale for now.
Also, I would give this 1 Star, but they preformed great for this first few months, which I agree should actually bring it to a 3/5, but then the mic wasn't that great bringing it back down to a 2/5.

So if you understood that, I congratulate you.

Final words: If you want some good headphones for now and not in a few months, go ahead.
If you want voice quality, I don't know why you're looking a 13 dollar headset. I guess the mic is worth the price.
The feel of them is nice on your ears, but after wearing them for a few hours it gets hot, but that makes sense.
Finally, just remember, you look really weird when people look at you with them on.

Customer Review: Affordable, High-Quality Headset with Microphone
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this device for recording podcasts and chatting with my friends on Skype, Gizmo, and Paltalk. I have been extremely impressed with the quality of the headphones and microphone.

First, about the headphones: They are quite comfortable (for me at least), and produce a nice, bass-rich sound. The volume control is nice, because the last set I bought produced sound that was way too loud, and I would get a shock if I didn't lower the volume greatly when switching from speakers to headphones. This set produces a more even sound.

Second, about the microphone: I am very pleased. This microphone puts my older microphone (a Labtec microphone from 2001) to shame, and saves me from having to clean up my recordings in Audacity to get rid of excess hum and noise. I was impressed that the noise-canceling feature really works well. Also, I can talk using a normal, conversational voice and the microphone picks it up clearly. The microphone can be adjusted up and down, and toward and away from your mouth, making it very easy to find the best location for the microphone in relation to your mouth. The sound quality is so excellent that as soon as my friends heard me talk with this microphone, they wanted one. I gave them a link to this product and they will order it soon.

Overall, I couldn't be more pleased. While I haven't compared this headset with other headsets, I can tell you that for the price, the quality is excellent, and I will be recommending it to all my friends as an affordable, high-quality headset with microphone.

Customer Review: Uncomfortable, So Fairly Useless
Summary: 2 Stars

From the get-go, I could tell this headset was not as comfortable. It was too tight on the sides, especially since I wear glasses. The phones would push on my ear, which pushed on my frames, which caused me to CONSTANTLY take the headset off. The second aggravating thing was the headband. It is not wide (like the CA), but thin, and the headset is fairly heavy. So the headband would start digging into the top of my head (if I wore it long enough after my ears were hurting).

Besides comfort, we tested the mic. Now, the CA had very good noise-canceling and would only pick up my voice. No background noise, not even a conference call that I had going over the computer's speakers for my husband to hear. The CA mic was awesome for my voice too - I don't like to speak very loudly, and even our Panasonic 2-line cordless phones proved that callers had trouble hearing me. But the CA mic didn't have a problem, everyone I talked to mentioned how awesome I sounded.

But the Logitech? Didn't even come close. The mic picked up A LOT, especially after I had to boost the decibels to try and get people to hear me better. My husband actually snapped his fingers on the other side of the room, and the mic picked it up!

I've used it for two days and plan on exchanging it tomorrow for the $17.99 Cyber Acoustics stereo version of our original mono headset.

Perhaps I should go write a review for CA's headsets now...

Customer Review: absolutely horrible- an utter regret
Summary: 1 Stars

my mother bought me this headset at circuit city for $50. this piece of junk wasn't worth even the gas money to get her to the store.

i use this headset for laying in bed and making online phone calls. if you plan to EVER be laying down while using this product do your ears a favor and just don't. laying on your side is BRUTAL, and even laying on your back will make your ears throb. sadly sitting up doesnt feel much different. within a week of getting it the speaker covers fell off and will NOT stay in, which causes my ears to rub against plastic and glue in the middle of a late night phone call.

the sound adjuster is worthless. the cords coming out of either end wiggle loose and cause UNBEARABLE static for the person on the other end of the call. the microphone is skippy and cuts out most of the sentences spoken. if the cord becomes twisted in the slightest way the horrible static returns, and WILL NOT STOP until you climb to the top of a set of stairs and let the cord dangle and unravel- and even then it doesn't always fix the problem.

the sound quality is horrible. just, ugh, i can't even describe how much i regret ever putting this stupid thing on my head.

SAVE YOUR MONEY. I DON'T CARE HOW CHEAP IT IS. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

i really hope this review helped, because seriously, this product is absolutely ridiculous.

Customer Review: Aural Disappointment
Summary: 1 Stars

I've always had good results with Logitech so when I got this headset I expected it to be a good quality set. I was extremely disappointed. In fact I bought another headset for $9 that out performs this headset by far and it was just a no name cheapy that I got for a friend. The band is way too small and not adjustable so if your head is even remotely normal sized this sucker will squeeze your brains out through your eyeballs. Not only that but there's no circulation so your ears sweat. The Mic has problems picking up sound. People I talked to on games and skype said I sounded like I was sitting in a fishbowl. I had to practically eat the mic in order to be heard. Lastly, poor construction. I only used the headset maybe 5 times and the rest of the time it was hung on a hook on the wall and undamaged and yet the sound cord apparently was damaged internally because I can no longer hear sound on it. The mic still works but the speakers are shot. The cord is thin and flimsy and I suspect that the wires have broken internally on the speaker side but I can't see any external damage. Save your ears and your money and buy another product. I'm not saying Logitech is bad, I'm just saying that this particular product is not up to par.
