Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Optical USB Mouse

Customer Review: FYI
Summary: 5 Stars

Just in case you are wondering, Logitech's model numbers for this mouse are M-BZ96C, M-SBM96B, and MBZ96. And yes, there is a silver colored counterpart. The part numbers are PN 931781-0403 (Silver), and PN 931643-0403 (Black). Although similar in style to some of the older models, at 1000-dpi, the optical resolution on this mouse is much higher than its older predecessors. This means finer movements, which comes in especially useful for photo editing and similar tasks. There is more information about the mouse on Logitech's website. However, if you are using Internet Explorer 7 or higher, you may need to use compatibility view to view the website properly.

Customer Review: Tracking is way too fast
Summary: 2 Stars

Even with the OS's mouse tracking dialed down to its lowest setting, the tracking on this mouse is way too fast. Its acceleration curve goes from "painfully slow" to "overshoots the target" with nothing in between, and trying to do slow and precise movements results in completely jerky movements. Using this mouse is nothing but an exercise in frustration.

If you don't mind a mouse pointer that shoots across the screen when you bump the mouse, this is probably the one for you. It feels well-constructed, feels good in the hand, and won't break the bank. For me, the tracking and precision issues mean I won't be going Logitech again.

Customer Review: Highly Recommended
Summary: 5 Stars

As you know from the description,
the software isn't required for basic
operation. Just plug it in and you're all set to go.

However, if you choose to download the (free) software,
from Logitech, many additional features become available.

Some of these features will only work with specific
models. For example, the zoom doesn't work with mine.
However, just about everything else does.

I just bought this the other day. And I'm
still "learning the ropes", so to speak.
But what I've seen so far, I like it very
much and highly recommend it.

Customer Review: Excellent Basic USB Mouse!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a basic 3 button optical USB mouse from Logitech. It is plug and play, and you don't need any additional software to make it run. Once you plug it into your computer, Windows will recognize it and configure the drivers itself. Logitech has a good reputation of making high-performing peripherals, and this mouse does not disappoint. It does not have any bells and whistles, so there is nothing to conflict with any program. It just works the way it is supposed to, just as most Logitech products do. This is an exceptional mouse and and exceptional value for those who want a no-frills mouse with no hassle.

Customer Review: So so mouse
Summary: 4 Stars

Ok mouse for a cheap replacement. The wheel has up and down plus side to side. The program to control the mouse switches is free download from logitech. The program is not easy to understand but works most of the time. Sometimes it goes wonkers with a boot up. I just kill it and mouse becomes a plain mouse. With a reboot it usually works as programmed...

The optical part works fine...
I use it with Vista home. I have another one that I use with Windows 7, 64bit just a plain mouse. Haven't tried the Logitech control program on the 64 bit windows.
