Customer Review: its an ok mouse. not the one in the picture though

I dont know why the picture shows a two-tone fancy and shiny looking mouse which has little in common with the dark grey one that I have, but I dont really care. The mouse works, so for the most part Im happy. It is a very light mouse, so it was a little bit of a shock for me coming from my desktop mouse which has more mass. I do somewhat prefer the desktop mouse because I end up overshooting whatever I try to click on or shoot at (virtually of course :) ) with this one. The adapter from usb to sp2 (?) is great I suppose, Ill keep it around for the unlikely occasion that I ever need it, but I havent seen a computer with that sort of plug in years, and they certainly dont make them anymore (that I have seen). In conclusion its an ok mouse, but If I were looking for one again Id probably shell out a couple bucks more for something of better quality.Customer Review: The best corded general purpose mouse

Smooth tracking, positive scrolling with slight indents as you move the wheel. Clean clicks on the buttons. Scroll wheel clicks too. Left and right scrolling by pushing the wheel left and right. Works out of the box with Mac with no drivers needed. However, you can download a preference panel that will give you extra abilities such as reprogramming the keys, key combinations, etc. if you need that. Personally I don't.
I wanted the following things: Optical mouse (not sure they even make the ones with the ball anymore, good!) Corded not wireless (batteries are a pain), real left and right button, a scroll wheel, and reliability. Of course all at a good price. If this sounds like you, stop here. The feel and quality of this mouse is right on the money. Very happy.

I have bought two of these mice over the past year and half, both have began failing after a 6 month period of use. Both of them the laser began to malfunction and will stop working, at first it's a simple fix of replugging it in, but it will eventually die out. Don't expect a nice ergonomic design, it's not overly comfortable. It is plug n' play so it's easy to hook up. The mouse wheel could be better, but it's not a major problem. Though it does get an extra star, the laser tracking is very good, and responsive.
For the price, it's an average mouse. If you use a mouse with a lot of daily use, I highly suggest putting in a little more. It's a mouse better for someone who won't use it often or back up mouse if a wireless mouse batteries die.

So far this mouse has worked out well. I use it on a notebook computer because having to use a touchpad greatly reduces my efficiency. It fits my somewhat long-fingered hand fine. I don't like small mice. The buttons and scroll-wheel work fine for me.
This mouse has far greater resolution (sensitivity) than the one it replaced and it took me a few days to get used to that (overshooting fairly often). I am find with it now. I have to do some graphics work starting in a month and wonder how the greater sensitivity will work with graphical tasks.
It has been totally reliable but then again I have only had it for a month.
Overall It works basically as expected at a good price.

I got this because I hate laptop touchpads.
The tilting wheel on this mouse rocks!
Using the Logitech sofware, I set my wheel up so that pushing it to the left goes back a web page, and pushing it to the right goes forward a web page.
When I click the wheel I set it up so that it shows me a list of every open program so that I can choose between them.
The wheel is saving me minutes a day.
The optical component works like a dream on my sheets, so I can use it in bed with no problems.
I bought the version with the cord because it keeps me from having to worry about batteries.
I love this mouse!
