Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Optical Notebook Mouse Plus (USB)Customer Review: Great Laptop Mouse, but... Summary: 4 Stars
I love this mouse, and I use about 6 days a week for anywhere from 2 - 6 hours and it has worked great without any flaws for about 9 months until it stopped working on me yesterday. I guess I should've expected this because of all the use I put it through, but it just stinks to have to spend money on a new one.
This is why I'm giving it only 4 stars.
Anyway, lets focus on the positive. This is, I think, the best laptop mouse on the market. I love that it wraps up, and you don't have to worry that the cord is going to get tangled in the other stuff you have in your bag. It's also the right size. Not too small, but small enough to pack away. This mouse makes it so much easier to navigate your laptop. Nevertheless, if you use it as much as I do, be prepared to replace it in about 9 - 12 months.
Customer Review: Dimensions and performance are perfect for me Summary: 5 Stars
I've used and abused this mouse everyday for about 3 years, on 2 different laptops, and its performance has been flawless. Hard to believe after all the varieties of mice I've used over the years that one this cheap would out perform them all. The cord has just the right stiffness - it never gets in the way or gets tangled up. It's almost like it's not there. It plugs firmly into the usb port on both of my Dell laptops. It works on practically ANY surface... I haven't used a real mousepad in years. I like the scroll wheel - it's the kind that moves in measured bumps, as opposed to a totally smooth motion. The buttons are not oversensitive, but not hard to click, either. And the size is perfect, too. Dimensions are roughly 3 5/8" (94mm) long, 1 1/4" (32mm) at its highest point, and 1 7/8" (48mm) wide.
Customer Review: New model is not like the old one. Summary: 1 Stars
I ordered this mouse because I have been using it's parent mouse for over three years and I just loved it. It feels very good in the hand and I just like a smaller mouse.
I was thoroughly disappointed in the button functions. The center button can not be used for a double click on this model. I love that feature and if it isn't on a mouse, I detest using it.
So my drawer has ended up with yet another perfectly good mouse because they just don't bother to tell you these things in the write-ups.
Other then that, I can't report on any other findings, because I put it away before I could throw it across the room.
If automatic double clicking is not your thing, then I think this would be a pretty good mouse.
I do love the size and feel of it in the hand during use.
Customer Review: Great mouse for laptops Summary: 5 Stars
The last mouse I had that was specifically designed for laptops was so small it was difficult to use with my large hands. This one strikes just the right balance between size and portability and has a good feel (typical of Logitech mice). One reviewer complained about the longevity of the cord and I agree that it looks a bit frail so I'm going to treat it gingerly to make it last. However, the product performs as expected.
10/2/09 Update:
My wife found the perfect use for this mouse --- the small size and short cord make it a great companion for her Mac keyboard, one of those compact aluminum jobs with the USB ports. It fits her small hands nicely and costs a lot less than Apple's Mighty Mouse. Looks like I've lost my laptop mouse...
Customer Review: Decent mouse, short cord. Not great for a MacBook Summary: 3 Stars
This matched well the feel and functionality of the full sized version version of this mouse I already own. I will say, however that I don't particularly like the feel of the scroll wheel, it's quite clunky. I have a targus mouse that I like much better - you still get the incremental feedback from the scroll wheel but it feels much smoother. My major complaint about this mouse is the length of the cord. The wrapping design is cool, but the cord is too short to be comfortably usable on my MacBook. I'm right handed and the MacBook's only USB port is on the left side of the case. So if your laptop does not have a USB port on the right side or on the back, consider this a word of caution. I will be giving this mouse to my wife (who has a different laptop).
