I'm not going to pay a lot for this mouse.
After getting sick and tired of mouse-ball-pen-top-cleaning, I saw the $15 optical mouse. Originally I was just looking for a PS2 to USB adapter, but those were $20. Friends of mine had an optical mouse, and I whole-heartedly recommend getting one. It's awesome. I didn't go wireless, as I avoid products that only run on batteries.
I got this for a mac, it hooked up right away, no problems. Best of all, I can run it on the carpet, so I can keep the laptop on the coffee table, but surf arms down be lazy.

i purchased for office use. everyone likes the size and weight. it works fine as a replacement for basic use.
however, the wheel is buried too deep. you cannot wheel it easily, i found myself had to use finger tip more often. especially annoying is when i use the wheel click to open/close files, i have to press hard while trying not to accidently press the right button. and the wheel is too mechanical ("stiff" was the word). it is not very comfortable to use.
it is cheap and works well. but i am looking for something better.

My dad's tech savvier than most, but he appreciates simplicity and ease of use above all else when it comes to his personal computer set-up. So, while I started out looking at the shiny logitechs with a zillion buttons, I went with this one for him. It's optical with the two standard buttons and the middle button scroll. Doesn't need batteries since it's got a wire. Best of all: no installation of software and no checks for updates. Just plug it in and you're good to go.
My dad and I both are very happy.

I got this mouse for the fact that it doesn't have any clear parts on the sides and top that shine light in your eyes, but thats about all it does. The controlls on this mouse are so horrible that after I write this review, i'm switching back to my old mouse which is begining to break. My breaking mouse actually has about 12 times more controllability than this thing does brand new. It's also a very noisy mouse. Clicking makes a very loud sound, which isn't very pleasent if your used to a nice quiet mouse.Customer Review: All over the place!

I downloaded the upgrades for the mouse online and for the week I used it had the problem of trying to keep the pointer from moving where I didn't want it to go. I play online games and it couldn't keep up. I ended up buying the laser mouse and smashing this product with a hammer. That was the only satisfaction I got from using this. I did stick with Logitech and got thier laser mouse which works great. I've always used thier products so one bad apple wasn't going to spoil it for me.
