Customer Review: Acceptable Wireless Keyboard/Mouse -- with reservations
Summary: 3 Stars

I am of the opinion that the designer of this keyboard doesn't have a left hand little finger -- or sticks it straight out like a tea drinker. The placement of the zoom, etc. controls on the left side of the keyboard is maddening. The keyboard also isn't "centered" properly, so when I type (keyboard on lap), I have to shift the keyboard to the right. I agree with other reviews that the date/time window is difficult to read and therefore basically useless. On the plus side, the volume controls are particularly nice, better than the rotary style. I'm also not enamoured of the mouse. My previous keyboard mouse combination, also from Logitech, included an optical mouse instead of laser, which was much more accurate and responsive. If you need a cordless mouse for gaming, this one won't please you, but for business purposes, it's fine. System is compatible with Windows Vista, and the keyboard has a nice "feel", neither too stiff nor too loose. If it weren't for those left-hand zoom controls, I'd rate this combination much higher.

Customer Review: Heads Up : Vista Users
Summary: 2 Stars

I would encourage anyone running Windows Vista to check the Logitech Support Forums or customer FAQ before purchasing. After purchasing this product and installing on a brand new Vista-ready PC I found that the Logitech software disabled system sound. Returning to Amazon, I found this issue documented by another Amazon reviewer. If I had noted this earlier I would have purchased something else or at least held off until this issue was resolved.

I tried to resolve the issue with Logitech Customer Support for almost three weeks with no luck. The other reviewer (Scott Solanik) experienced the same result after working with them for over three weeks. I am assuming that a significant number of the favorable reviews here refer to Windows XP. - Although the keyboard and mouse are nice, I would encourage anyone using Vista to hold off on their purchase until they can confirm that Logitech has a solution for this known issue.

In my case, I simply returned the keyboard.

Customer Review: My favorite keyboard combo of all time, so far
Summary: 4 Stars

This keyboard/mouse has some flaws, but overall it is my favorite that i have ever used. I think I have about 5-6 of them in use at my company and home. The zoom bar on the side is one of the flaws, it is easy to bump and send your screen out of control. I just disable it so it doesnt bother me.

If you want to use the extra features you'll need to install logitech setpoint. They are nice sometimes but I really just use the calculator button (frequently). The back button on the mouse is great.

Keyboard has great battery life, mouse is decent. Only had reception problems a few times. Make sure you dont have dust/hair in the laser eye!

Might be a bug in MS office 2007 - in the bottom of the screen sometimes I left click and a right click menu comes up...not sure if it is logitech's fault, but it seems to just be with this particular mouse. Easy workaround though...

Find a deal on one - they go on sale often. $50 is a good buy-range.

Customer Review: LOTS OF BELLS AND WHISTLES
Summary: 5 Stars

For someone who has the time to figure out all the added features it would really be beneficial. I am able to manuver quite well with just basic knowledge, but have decided to spend more time taking advantage of some of the definite timesaver abilities. The keyboard is a soft touch and a comfortable span once you become accustomed (my old keyboard was bit smaller in length). Like most have said the FN button is true salvation from things that could be irritating. The online manual is well, an online manuel. Sometimes helpful, sometimes not with time usually being the factor. My last keyboard did not have ANY indicator of caps on/off---what's up with that?--but the flash across the screen is a delight compared to none at all. For someone who uses their keyboard for scripting, letters, charts, anything that is repetative- etc this has a lot of bang for the buck. I found the price reasonable $[...] or so on sale and if/when I receive the $[...] rebate it will have been a steal.

Customer Review: Wore out quickly; very bad for PowerPoint users
Summary: 1 Stars

The keyboard wore out too quickly. I don't even type on it that much, but after a year of light use, the keys have almost become impossible to press down. This severely aggravates my typing tendonitis.

One unfortunate design decision was to leave off the context menu key which I rely on heavily for efficient work in PowerPoint. There is a two key substitute (Fn+PrintScreen), but this workaround is highly inefficient as it's hard to hit those two keys reliably when touch typing.

Also, the "zoom" slider on the left is troublesome. I often accidentally brush against it find myself staring at 80 pt font on the screen.

Small plus - a dedicated calculator key! So handy to keep me from starting Excel or hunting through windows menus to find the calc program.

Also, minor but annoying: CDMA phones will interfere with the wireless link on occasion.

The mouse is OK, but I would not buy this set again or recommend it to anyone.
