Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech MX 400 Performance Laser Mouse

Customer Review: great no-frills mouse
Summary: 4 Stars

The reason I bought this mouse, was because i no longer wanted to deal with the hassle that wireless mice bring with them. One older Logitech wireless mouse wouldn't recharge any more, but at least it ran with AA batteries, which was fine at first, but after a while I went through so many batteries it was getting a little silly. Then I bought a Logitech MX Revolution for $[...] that has all the bells and whistles. This one however is like an Ipod in the sense that the batteries cannot be changed, so once they die, I have to buy another mouse. And for some reason I never go the mail-in rebate that came with it.

So for this one I thought, I don't really need a search button on the mouse itself, and I don't want to deal with batteries anymore, nor do I want to spend $[...]. So this one seemed reasonable and for now I'm quite happy with it.

Customer Review: Bought Used One, is Great
Summary: 5 Stars

I have owned one of these for two or three years. I searched diligently for another and found only used ones. I took a chance on buying used, but my purchase was a good decision. The seller said it was like new, and it is.

The MX 400 is a great mouse design. It fits my hand perfectly. It is laser and tracks accurately on most any surface. I am very happy to find a second one, even a used one. Why Logitech discontinued this model is beyond me.

The only thing I don't like about this mouse are the extra buttons and the side scrolling wheel. I don't need these features. I don't eneed any extra features. I need a mouse that is comfortable to use, and this mouse fits my needs extraordinarily. It is the best I've ever bought, and when the time comes, I will again seek a used Logitech MX 400.

Customer Review: Amazing at this price
Summary: 5 Stars

Seriously the best mouse I've ever had.
For heavy internet and word/spreadsheet users like me it is the perfect mouse to have. I had it in my previous job and just had to buy the same for my home computer. All the buttons are programmable and allow you to navigate between applications or even between different windows of a same application. These different functions come in particularly handy with the Dashboard and Exposé functions of Mac OS X .
The size and the design also make it one of the most comfortable out there.
Logitech tends to generally have some of the most expensive hardware, although they put great products on the market. However this mouse is one of the relatively affordable products they have and it is more than a lot of bang for the buck.

Customer Review: Excellent Wired Mouse - But It Doesn't Work On My Glasstop Desk
Summary: 4 Stars

This is an outstanding mouse. I use two different mouse at work and two at home - this is the best of the bunch. I bought it because the laser mouse is supposed to work on a larger variety of surfaces. I always have to use a mouse pad (which I dislike) because I have a vintage chinese rosewood desk with a glass-top surface and mouse won't work on it. This mouse does not work on this surface either, so I still have to use a mouse pad. Oh well - the mouse is so much better than the Mac mouse that it was still worth buying.

Other than that, this is an excellent mouse, very accurate tracking, very ergonomic for right-handed people only. The scroll wheel works perfectly, and because it's "wired" you don't have to worry about batteries or signal "tracking errors."

Customer Review: very good mid-range mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

I dont play video games, and found this mouse to be a perfect one for business applications, graphics, etc.
I have been using Logitech mice for years, and when needed an update - decided to get this one. It's a laser mouse, and i found them to be much more forgiving of tracking surfaces, pretty much anything short of a mirror will be sufficient, not like the LED or old ball devices.
I have a wireless version similar to this one: Logitech MX 610 Cordless Laser Mouse (931350-0403), and i use it all the time on the road at clients' meetings. I prefer to use the wired version at home and in the office, so i don't have to worry about the batteries.
