I'm a huge Logitech fan. I've been buying Logitech products since I can't remember (and I've owned computers all my life since the Apple 2E). So, I may be a bit biased, but this a great mouse. It's comfortable, smooth and responsive. Clicks are soft and the mouse wheel is smooth, but also stable. This is pretty much the standard of mice today. It's everything it should be. If you're looking for more flair or more features, look at Logitech's other products. This mouse is great. I love the side scrolling abilities and the two thumb buttons. Everything is put together in a way that always works, I've never had any trouble with the mouse. It is stylish and fits perfectly in my hand. The laser quality is outstanding, a leap above normal optical. I have the wireless version of this at my house, and it is less reliable. Both because the wireless seems to cause trouble and because it has a few extra buttons that I can't seem to get to work. Great mouse, very solid with good functionality, feels great in your hand, but don't use it if you don't use a mousepad- it's so sensitive that wood grain or even the weave of your pants will mess it up.
The laser is barely visible to the naked eye as a tiny dot, but seems to be primarily in the IR spectrum, and is really bright if you look at it through the camera on a phone.
All in all, it is a great mouse, as long as you treat it like the piece of precision equipment that it is.

This is a great feeling mouse. It's important to me to have a natural feeling tool when I work. I spend most of my day editing video on a Mac Pro and this is the best feeling mouse I've found. I'm the kind of shopper that goes into Best Buy, Office Depot and any other store carrying these things and grabs every one of them to test the fit for my hand. The functionality is important as well and this mouse has all of the extra buttons one needs to navigate the web, in addition to tracking accurately.Customer Review: $50 bucks for this???

the scroll wheel click is SO ANNOYING! its freaking LOUD! no problem scrolling down, but scrolling up is really loud CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK

also, a problem is when customizing the buttons, you cant make the side to side scroll wheel buttons function as scroll ! this is an essential function for technical analysis in finance. will be sending this back, too bad I shredded the crap out of the packaging
