Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech MOMO Force Feedback Racing WheelCustomer Review: Seems to be working for me. Summary: 4 Stars
I've ready multiple reviews of the paddle shifters breaking on this wheel, but being I use the stick shift, that hasn't happened to me yet :-D I've had the wheel for about 5 months or so now. It hasn't been flawless, unfortunately. I've noticed that the deadzone, when in the calibration window used to be none-existant; it picked up EVERY little change in movement of the wheel... now there is a slight dead zone on it. Hasn't affected my racing, though so that is good. Also, the stick shift knob makes a popping sound every now and then when I shift up... or actually down, because I reverse the default settings.I actually bought this wheel through Best Buy and I intended to buy their extended warranty thing for it, but I never got around to it. I kind of regret that, because I'd hate to see my $100 wheel stop working on me.
Customer Review: Great product, but the sellers here are way over priced Summary: 5 Stars
I've bought two Logitech Momo Force wheel controllers and they are really great. Easy to use and configure, can be used with or without the force feedback, which is how I use it. Just disconnect the power supply to it.
My real complaint is the prices I seen on Amazon for it. $250 and more for this controller absolutely outrageous! I've never paid more that $100 for one, the last one I ordered online from WalMart and paid $82.00. Many other places like Best Buy, Frys, etc, have it for $73 to $100.
The next step up is the Logitech G25 wheel and can be found for $200 or less.
Do a little shopping around before purchasing one, should never have to pay more than $100 for one.
I do highly recommend this controller.
Customer Review: Mac users - Well, it's only OK! Summary: 3 Stars
CD accompanying product can't be read/loaded because it's designed for PC. Nonetheless, functions can be manually entered and Mac users will better enjoy many of the racing games out there. Love the force-feedback. Mechanism for clamping unit to desk isn't very strong and I broke mine on the second day (it's plastic). Still, my kids love what features that are available, so we're relatively happy. Bottom line: recommended if you're tired of playing racing games on keyboard and long for greater functionality. I buy these kind of product for my kids. They enjoy, and use often. And that's what makes me a happy camper. BTW: I got express delivery without paying additional expense. Was shocked to find product at my door in less than 2 days.
Customer Review: The Ultimate Racing Wheel Summary: 5 Stars
For any die-hard racing fan that burns rubber on their PC, one of the most important pieces to the whole montage for the best experience is the racing wheel. And the Logitech MOMO Racing Wheel has it all. If you like shifting with the padals like an F1 driver, it can do that. If you want to shift with the stick, it'll do that. And if you want important keys such as looking left, right, back, the clutch, and more within a fingers reach, then you can do that too. The Logitech MOMO Racing Wheel is a another great addition to a racers setup, when you want to be able to come closer to a real-life experience. I personally have been racing for over 4 years, and I've only had one type of steering wheel: Logitech's MOMO Racing Wheel.
Customer Review: Good wheel, horrible attachment to desk Summary: 3 Stars
Overall, this wheel is pretty good. I like the seperate stick shift, shift padels, and gas/break. The amount of buttons allow for a wide variety of setup options for games such as the NFS series.
However... the way you clamp this thing to the desk is just plain stupid. Look at the pictures and you'll see. They should have looked at the old Microsoft force feedback wheel of older days - now that was a real clamping system. There's nothing more irritating then when you're enjoying a great driving game and the wheel slips because of such a poor design. If it hadn't been for that, this wheel would be 4, or even 5, stars. Grrr - if Logitech would just redesign their "clamping" system!
